175 to 200 is too large of a jump. I have zero issue with this.

the issue is 4 major belts and then all the nonsense belts. the issue is not putting a weight class in the middle of the biggest weight jump in the sport.

Hate to say it but as far as being popular enough to create the kind of superstars which were cultural/pop icons of previous generations, I don't see this being the case for much longer if it still is at all. Schools are closing everywhere, interest is waning in the very age group(s) which traditionally kept the sport relevant and when our wrinkly old dinosaur asses finally shed this mortal coil, I worry whether there will remain enough passion, enough promise or enough interest to keep the conversation going. Maybe I'm just being a little pesemistic today because I'm sober af

The only good news about this is the promise that more people will see what a bunch of greedy clowns WBC are so maybe more fighters will follow Bud Crawford's footsteps in telling them to go **** themselves.

Nah. Too many belts is definitely an issue. But another weight class also isnt needed. Just move LHW to 180. Problem solved.

Agreed. 10 divisions. 135-225 in 10 pound increments. Don't need to see tiny dudes or exhausted giants hugging eachother for 8 rounds.

    - influencerweight (limit determined by followers)
    - trash talk weight

So you'd get rid of everything under 135? No Inoue? No Nakatani? No Bam? In the past, no Hamed?

    You're insane.

I feel Boxing is going down the Victorian Tennis path. If you look at the Saudis and Dana Whites planned coup this is going to be a sport for eccentric rich people who don't need to make a living and people with benefactors. Thats the direction this is all going.

You're going to see a lot more nepo babies of legends win stuff because they will have the resources and desire to fight without getting paid that much.

Someone should try to see what the top 15 at this weight class would look like, then see what light heavyweight and cruiser looks like once those fighters are siphoned

Change the name, and lower Cruiserweight to 190.
    175
    190
    210

Any small heavyweight will be capable of squeezing down to 210 while light-heavyweights wont have to fight tiny heavyweights.

Someone please explain to the WBC that the more often you tell a joke the less funny it is.

More divisions is not what boxing needs. Continuing to make itself less and less relevant

You make a valid point, but, if there was a reduction of divisions, like someone suggests, how would you structure the divisions? I cut from the bottom and capped the top. 10 divisions. I know there were and are some excellent fighters below 135, including some of my favorites like Alexis Arguello.
