The biggest problem with weight classes is that fighters don’t fight at their true weight, same day weight-in and established weight monitoring during camp.
I have to say that this current situation with boxing is not looking good, the introduction of
Dana and the quest to scrap the Ali, the diminished value of national and continental titles as a route to development of fighters, the lack of transparency in clearly manipulated rankings for financial gain, take Connor Benn being ranked as number one challenger for the winner of the WBC welterweight championship bout between Garcia and barrios absolutely ridiculous, the fact Anthony Joshua is fighting Jake Paul for probably a career high payday and as the challenger, the introduction of a mini music festival in big fights, and then there’s the judging bias that is often criminal, ped use is through the roof and the benefit of the doubt is given to the fighters as long as they deny their guilt.
All these factors are part of the decline in boxing but the most significant factor is the lack of integrity in society, which has led to a lack of appreciation for what boxing is, and what it means, and the only evidence you need to prove that is that fact that slapping championship is actually a thing.
It’s probably going to get to the point where there’s a sport where it’s just a free hit, jaw on a shelf and they just go shot for shot.
It’s only a matter of time.

Jai would beat heavyweights imo, that dude is special, so it's not really relevant. Weight classes exist for a reason, the best light heavyweight is not supposed to beat the top cruiserweight/heavyweight but we know it's happened. I guarantee Benavidez can beat Zurdo and a few ranked contenders. Bivol would snatch the belt from Badou Jack easy

Yeah I'm not seeing it. Light heavyweight to cruiserweight is a fine transition, it should be kept that way. Another weightclass just subtracts the talent in both divisions.

We don't need more weight classes. The elimination of same day weigh ins also slightly invalidates boxing weight classes

I'm more likely to be convinced to cap HW to 265 or so than I am to do anything to remove lower weight classes. Because, know what the little guys don’t do? Show up out of shape and huff and puff during a fight. The sport should respect the guys who respect it.

People who have a problem with the creation of more weight classes tend to hail from countries which are not powerhouses of boxing and are not breeding grounds and conveyor belts for world champion level boxers like the tiny majestic isle of Great Britain with it's minuscule population.

Me, personally, I welcome the creation of as many new weight classes as possible with open arms because I see it as an opportunity for more of our boys to dominate and shine :deal:

Zuffa Boxing aims to simplify the boxing landscape:
    -fewer weight classes
    -no sanctioning bodies
    -capped pay structure

Listen, I have been on this site for a very long time and when I see guys, like you, popping up all over the place with these early join dates, I just get very, VERY suspicious, and, well, actually mad. Are you really who you say you are, "BigBone?" Or are you just a pretender? Because I need a man. A good man. And this might be false advertising.

A 185 division makes sense to me. get ride of a few manlet divisions and make a 185 div. The 25 lbs between LHW and CW is huge.
