Isaac Jonathan Cruz González vs. Lamont Roach, Jr. & Stephen Fulton Jr. vs. O’Shanique D. Foster RBR

Roach is presumably making a mistake here trying to fight in the pocket with Cruz. I get what his mentality is, to not let the predator push him back, establish himself, and try to undermine the 'bully' by giving him his own medicine, and maybe he thinks hes slick enough to counter effectively inside while rolling cruzs offense... but one has to assume this is poor judgement. This strategy is good against slimmer power punches that like distance to establish their power, not short stocky mexican pit bulls like... pit bull.

Not saying Roach cant win like this, hes landing some nice shots here and there, hes the bigger guy kinda and he is relatively sharp, but regardless, a bit of poor decision making imo. Makes me wonder why he was confident in his ring generalship to outbox cruz on the back foot instead of handing cruzs best chances to him by trading with him inside.

 

You could probably crack Cruz over the head with that and it would break in half with no effect on him

 

This a nice fight tho imo, am enjoying it.
