    Idk about that man, whenever people get too excited over a boxer crushing an MMA fighter it always ends up far more competitive than initially expected. Being against a 40 lbs heavier man that can punch like Pereira is always a hard situation be in.

    Im 2 out of 3 on my boxing vs mma calls... had mayweather laboring early but ending with a tko10, and had ngannou troubling Fury.

    The one I got wrong was I thought Ngannou would trouble AJ a bit too.

    I dont underestimate mma fighters in the boxing ring, but as always styles make fights, and I think Beterbiev would smash Alex in around 7 rounds or less.

    Arturs age would be the biggest variable here, getting old overnight n all that. If hes in form though I just see no real way Alex can survive. I suppose theres a chance Alex catches Artur with a big shot, but I tend to think mma fighters power is a bit overrated.
    Youre right though, Alex would have quite the size advantage, but I think the disparity in class would be too much.


    But the fight almost certainly doesnt happen. I would expect Alex to go for a better risk/reward ratio when he enters boxing, and fair enough, he should.

    Pereira's fighting weight is 205lbs, they would have to fight at heavy or cruiserweight.
    The UFC's light heavyweight ranges from 186 to 205 lb (84 to 93 kg).

    Alex is stiffer than a board with very leaky defense. Beterbiev lays him out cold early and brutally. He might be able to hang with some of weaker top CW and "Bridgerweights" but any top elite boxer who he doesn't completely dwarf lays him out.

    There might be some fun exchanges early on if Opetaia comes out super aggressively but he still gets taken out early regardless.

    Pereira does much better PPV numbers than Jai.

    A lot of people gave Ngannou no chance against Fury.

    I think Alex could do better than most give credit for.

    Boxing has muay thai fighters win wbc titles before. i actually think he'd be awkward enough to throw off fundamental fighters off their game like Ngannou did to Fury.
