Conah Walker: The Wolverine of Wolverhampton-The Welterweight West Midlands War Machine.

Conah Walker born May 19, 1995 is a 5'8 Welterweight with a 17-3-1 with 3 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, United Kingdom. This thread is a long time coming, for a fighter that in my eyes, should be unbeaten. I've loved watching Walker since I first laid eyes on him back in 2022, seeing him get robbed against Samuel Antwi. At that point, he was expendable and being brought in to lose to the glitzier named fighter. But as always, fought out of his skin and by all rights, should've been proclaimed the winner. Then a few fights later, one of the more shameful referee decisions I've seen it quite some time, saw him being robbed again, in favor of the hometown Lancashire boy Kane Gardner. From that point on, it seems like Walker has taken it as a point of pride to test himself against every fancy 0 in the UK usually knockout artists, grind them down to a nub, and more often than not stopping them late. He dominated and stopped Cyrus Patterson, who'd been on a tear. He cut through Lloyd Germain in 3, like crap through a goose. Then in a match no one gave him a shot in, but me. He took on hypejob Lewis Crocker, and battered him senseless over the course of 10 rounds, and had him reeling and ready to go late. Steve Gray did his part, docking him a bull**** point for a low blow. Everyone including the commentators thought he did enough to win. Then The Croc of **** was gifted the win, with of course Terry O'Connor being one of the judges. After that he beat Lewis Ritson senseless in his debut at Welterweight. But his dominant run really started when he picked up the British Welterweight Title, sensationally stopping Harry Scarff in the 11th, for the first time in his career, in a match that he was losing. He made quick work of Liam Taylor stopping him in the 7th. Then once again, his promoter Eddie Hearn taking him for granted, brought him in hoping to gift his golden boy Pat McCormack, who I rated highly, a nice shiny domestic title. Thankfully, Walker had other plans, setting a relentless pace from the opening bell, eventually grinding down and stopping McCormack in the 12th and final round, by knocking him clean out of the ****ing ring.

Walker who only had a brief 33 fight amateur career, turned pro at 23, originally under the tutelage of Ricky Hatton. So he's been brought up the hard way, having to learn on the job. He's shown improvements with every fight, while sure, he's far from flawless. He's an underrated and increasingly skilled and tricky fighter to be in against. His head and upper body movement is deceptively good, his chin is made of wrought iron, his high guard is water tight both for his head and body, his gas tank is next level, the pace he sets is ferocious and suffocating, and is capable of dragging even the most skilled opponents into toll taking wars of attrition. His thudding short jab is persistent and impactful, ushering his opponents around the ring, constantly getting them in the position for him to have his way with them. His right cross is nasty and abrupt, his left hooks to the head and body damaging, and quick, sometimes he doubles and triples them up. His footwork and ability to cut the ring off is next level. Now that he's honing his craft as a part of Jamie Moore's stable, he might be unstoppable at British level, and competitive at world level. Quite frankly, the shape Welterweight is in, I wouldn't rule him being the eventually kingpin out. I see very few of the champs capable of beating him, and that includes Haney, who wouldn't be able to get away from him. So please, do me a favor, and sit back and enjoy, the glorious fistic brutality on display, from the Wolf Conah Walker!
