Belts are always leverage and help a fighter

The dude has lost 1 fight at HW, to a huge HW no less (Wallin)

Kudos to Gassiev for doing what he was supposed to do

He is no longer with the singer. Has another woman next to him.

Getting concussed at 44 is not that different from getting concussed at 22, the exception being how long it takes to recover. The difference between the ages is that its easier to get a concussion at an older age, but the effects dont really change.
Pulev needs to take at least 6 months off of training, and another 6 months of no sparring where he can get his nogging rattled. He does this and he will be back to normal.

First 2 rounds were boring, but then they turned up the heat. Pulev started throwing quite a few 1-2s while applying pressure, and Gassiev returned with lots of nasty body shots.

It was a good fight, much better than it was on paper.

Your knowledge of concussion is lacking here, too many half truths. Upto date Concussion training is advised.

Everything I said is 100% true. A concussion is a concussion, age doesn't really factor into it too much (at least not in this particular age bracket). Age only plays a role in susceptibility and recovery, and of course susceptibility means than an older person is more likely to suffer a severe concussion than a younger individual.

Its the same with bone fractures. Bone density peaks at 30 or so, and older men are more likely to fracture bones, however the healing time is relatively still the same. The fracture itself is still a bone fracture.

I didn’t realise gassiev is only 32! It feels like he’s been around forever

Aging is a *****. I’m in my late 40s. I tripped over a crack in my driveway yesterday, managed to direct my fall toward the grass and land on my side instead of my face. It hurt like a *****. I know it wouldn’t have hurt like that 20 years ago.

The point was that a concussion is still a concussion, age doesn't change that. The only thing age plays a role in is the severity of the concussion, as you pointed out, its easier to get injured in older age.

I am basing this on what a dr told me after my mom hit her head. Your brain shrinks as you age. A previous concussions increase the likelihood of future injury.

That´s true for every age tho, only difference is that an older person has a higher chance of suffering a more severe concussion. But at the end of the day, a concussion is still a concussion and only the severity of it matters.

I sparred in my late 40's and early 50's. I used to be able to walk through most anything. Boy howdy, did that armor disappear. I didn't ever feel like the lights were going to be turned out but my balance went out the window when we turned up the action and harder shots started coming in. It's not smart to do these things past 40 (probably not smart to ever do them) but we each make our own choices. No one gets out of here alive.

I clearly felt a physical change at around 30. Usually I would say that for most boxers their physical primes are from 27 to 32, but I definitely felt slowing down after I hit 30.
I can only imagine what 40 is, not that it will be bad, but because it will be noticeable.

Physically I was in great shape, could still bang out a 5K in 19 minutes and lift a house. My balance and snap were still there. Those were the reasons I wanted to gauge myself. But my punch resistance was missing. Luckily it was just sparring.
