I don't think Usyk has really had a say in this, it's probably Turki wanting to find a fight that sells for casuals, and then a big highlight reel KO of Wilder will line up a Wardley or Itauma fight. Usyk flattens Wardley but I honestly think Itauma beats him if he waits any longer than 12 months to fight him, he has to slow down eventually and Itauma is a unit with lightning speed, Father Time remains undefeated.

Nope . Of course a fight against wardley or kabayel would generate way more purse , ppv and publicity than a meaningless bout against a completeley shot wilder where everybody knows who wins . These zero threat soft touches the other greats fought or defended their belts against in their primes were such soft touches they might as well have been made out of cotton wool. They were complete mismatches against soft touches who were so out of their depth they stood a negative of zero chance of winning. The Dosser is one of the hardest punchers the HW division had ever seen and he has knocked out 43 of his 44 victims and he knocked out the one guy who took him the distance in the rematch in a round And The Dosser's losses all came against top HWs who were way or much bigger than him and had huge or massive weight advantages on him and were all or have been ranked in the top 4 in the world, the highest being #1 If your only soft touch in your career at the world level sans and extremely late notice sub whilst becoming undisputed champ x 3 and a two-weight champ is when you are 39 y/o at the end of your career is a former long reigning world champion who has knocked out 43 of the 44 victims have knocked out every man they've beaten and their only loses were against much or way bigger fellow current or former world champions one of whom they dropped x 4 times then it speaks volumes

Usyk is 39 or will be next month, he has cleaned out CW, beaten all the champs at HW and the highest rated fighters at HW when he fought them, all 1-2 ranked IIRC sans mandatory Dubois, in their backyards or on the road as the B-side most of the time, and he wants The Dosser's name on his CV and a huge money fight so he can say he beat the three top HWs of this era He did vacate the belt and he also said that maybe he will fight Fabio later. If anyone has earned the right to pick and chose their opponents it's Usyk. People are acting like he's in his prime and he hasn't clocked boxing and established himself as the undisputed king of 2 divisions and he did it the hard way in his opponent's backyards and on the road spending the last 9-10 years fighting the best or tough challenges B2B sans once when he fought a very late notice sub for his HW debut with zero cherrypicking, deck-stacking, use of dirty tactics and impeccable conduct in and out of the ring. He's about to become the 4th oldest HW champ of all time, is the oldest undisputed HW champ of all time, and is the 2nd oldest unified HW champ of all time and the three above him were all massive 240-250 + natural HWs and huge punchers with extremely high KO percentages and they all fought many soft touches. He is the oldest non-natural HW champ of all time or the oldest small HW champ. He hasn't said he's not going to fight any of the guys people want him to after The Dosser but they can't even afford him of all people a modicum of grace at 39 y/o after doing everything they wanted or anyone could ask of him consistently throughout his career and in a way many other greats and world champions wouldn't do and numerous ones categorically refused to ever do.
There isn't an obvious number 1 challenger or threat, Usyk has dominated and has a hell of a track record. I am a Wilder fan, I don't think he deserves the shot given his time off and recent losses and form in those losses. I am excited to see Wilder get one more try. If Usyk was clearly avoiding some obvious challenger I'd be critical of this fight but that is hardly the case here. Usyk is just about done as a fighter anyway and this is a decent farewell fight if that is what it turns out to be
Mr. Fury, I can see an argument for Wardley, because it could be a stadium fight, but saying Kabayel would generate more purse is crazier than when you head-butted that kid at the Usyk fight. America is a very big place, with lots of money, and even if boxing is not a first-tier sport anymore, the "niche" fans run into the hundred millions. Usyk-Wilder does business. If I didn't have young kids I might go myself. And it means something to Usyk personally. I think you are probably just worried because Wilder is two of your son's best wins, and you don't want him losing too many fights. Let's be honest, here.
You keep referring to his accomplishments and career, we all know how good and successful he is, but no matter how you spin it fighting current Wilder is a paper defense and no different than what Jones did with Aspinall. I hope he at least vacates if he is really gonna do this.

And Jones had been extremely disrespectful towards Aspinall who was nothing but respectful to him until he finally grew sick of the completely unwarranted disrespect If Usyk refused to vacate the belt and fought The Dosser and then held the belt hostage for the best part of a year after doing so and then proceeded to turn down a career high payday to fight Fabio because he was terrified of fighting him and vacated the belt and promptly retired because he couldn't wiggle out of defending against him it would be more similar but he vacated the belt And as I'm sure you are aware, Jones conduct has been anything but impeccable. Quite the opposite, in fact. He's a woman-beating drink driving PED cheat/drug fiend and a borderline sociopath if not a full blown one who continued to drive under the influence even after injuring a pregnant woman in a hit and run whilst driving under the influence. Usyk is a virtually a saint compared to fighters who are good guys, he's Jesus compared to Jones Usyk has thoroughly earned some grace, Jones has thoroughly earned his disgrace.
