Doesn’t matter in the slightest. As long as Usyk has those belts and calls himself “the champion” he has to act like it regardless of what he did beforehand. His resume, his previous intent of taking on everyone, none of it matters, all that matters is what he does and right now he is seemingly not doing what he is supposed to do as the champion. If he vacates its cool, if he fights Wilder with all the belts he has its a disgraceful match.

Jones’ case is much worse but fighting a shot Wilder instead of Wardley is 100% in the same vein as fighting Stipe instead of Aspinall, and the whole “well Usyk obviously beats Wardley!” defense is the exact same thing Jones fans used to defend him avoiding Aspinall, and it only got more credible after Aspinall’s match with Gane. If Douglas can beat prime Tyson literally anything can happen in that ring. I don’t know why its so hard for you to admit that Usyk does just ONE thing wrong throughout an entire career of near-perfection. You are not a fan at this point, you are a stan. You have to criticize the guy when need arises if you are calling yourself a proper fan.

As for the whole “well Usyk is a nice person and Jones is mean!” stuff, well tough luck, that’s not in equation for their respective MA careers.

Jesus wept! There is only ONE UFC belt not FOUR. Usyk doesn't hold all the belts he literally vacated the belt and made Fabio's wildest dreams come true. He hasn't retired or said he's not going to defend his belts against his mandatories after fighting The Dosser providing he wins of course. In fact, he even said he might fight Fabio later. This is ONE FIGHT for goodness sake! A pit stop and if he won't defend against his mandatories after it he should vacate or be stripped

You are aware Usyk vacated the belt, right?

Of course what he did beforehand matters. He's forged an entire career fighting on a deck stacked or heavily stacked against him and has trod a path even many of his fellow legends and ATGS would not do flat-out refused to do. With soft touches other than a very late notice sub for his HW debut, with zero ducking, zero deck-stacking, zero cherrypicking, zero use of dirty tactics, zero trying to weaken or cripple opponents at the negotiating table or gain any kind of unfair advantag over them. Now go an apply all that to every other boxer in history, including his fellow legends and ATGs, and see how few you can say all that about so therefore, as said, if anyone has earned the right to pick and choose their opponents or one ''soft touch,'' let alone at 39 y/o when you're the oldest ever undisputed HW champion, 2nd oldest unified HW champion, very soon to be 4th oldest ever HW champ at the end of your career and well past your prime too.

lol it's not the same. Jones was terrified of Aspinall and he ducked him because he knew the chances of him losing were very high. You think Usyk is remotely scared of Fabio? He would beat the crap out of Fabio and everyone knows it. The Dosser hits harder than Fabio with comparable skill fir goodness sake

Yes, if anything can literally happen in boxing and Douglas can beat Mike then The Dosser who has knocked out or stopped every man he's beaten, 43 of his 44 victims with a KO 97%, landing his right hand from hell and knocking out Usyk can happen too

I'm not a Stan I'm literally the CEO of the Holy Church of Uysk

Again, it's ONE bloody fight at the end stage of Usyk's career. Let's see what happens afterwards before you nail Usyk to the cross

And Usyk's conduct in and out of the ring has been impeccable. That matters

I suspect boxing fans overwhelmingly would prefer Usyk to be more active and not rematch the same guys over and over.

So I don't understand the argument that he's been giving the fans what they want and deserves leeway now.

Surely it would have been far better for the sport had he fought 3x a year and not wasted so many of his best years

Anyone shitting on Usyk for taking an easy fight with money attached should observe other boxers who’ve done the same…since the beginning of time…

You are shifting the argument from "he deserves to pick who he wants to fight" to "its just one pit stop". Again, Im fine with him fighting Wilder as long as there isn't any belt on the line. if there is, its a blatant cherrypick and a paper defense.
The difference is other ATGs get trashed on regularly for their soft touches. Ali, Holmes, they all go through tons of verbal fire. Usyk is not special. If those guys can get criticized, so can (and should) he.
As I said, this is the usual "yeah but it doesn't matter, Usyk wins anyway" argument, which makes no sense. I don't care who knows that Usyk would most likely beat Wardley, it doesn't matter, he earned his shot, and he should get it. This is HW, everybody has a puncher's chance at the very least. I didn't think Aspinall would beat Jones until Jones retired instead of fighting him either, but I was still criticizing him because even if he was capable of winning anyway, he had to get in that octagon and show it.
Wilder doesn't deserve to fight him, Wardley does.
Nobody's nailing him to anywhere, Im just sick of the blatant favoritism this guy gets all the time despite his fans having a victim complex surrounding him. Him fighting Wilder with belts on the line is a disgrace and a cherrypick. There's no way around it, and I don't care if he split the earth in two 5 years ago.
We are talking about a sport where people punch each other until the other guy isn't conscious anymore, being a nice guy doesn't mean anything.

A soft defence now and again is totally 100% ok by me, especially when the guy has been dealing death to top 3 contenders for a stretch. It's a dumb fight for Usyk to take, a really stupid move, but i've no problem with him doing it if that is what he really wants. He owes us Wardley or Kabayal next though.

I'm not shifting anything I said it was a pit stop and if anyone deserves to pick and choose it's him before. I've been consistent on that. You're just looking for any reason you can to try and crap on a fighter for taking one ''soft touch'' in their entire career after a career of impeccable conduct spent fighting the best and taking on tough touches pretty much B2B on a deck stacked against them. I can't think of another fighter in history who has had less soft touches than Usyk when they were in their prime, let alone at 39 year when well past it but you're all frothing at the mouth at Usyk for doing it once at the end of his career vs a fighter with 43 KOs in 44 wins who is way more dangerous than the vast majority of the zero threat soft touches they fought in their primes

It does matter because you compared the Usyk-Fabio situation to Jones-Aspinall and they are not the same. No one, I repeat no one, least of all Usyk, thinks Fabio would beat Usyk, whereas, conversely, loads of people, including myself, favoured Aspinall to beat Jones.

If Gane had beaten Aspinall Jones would've unretired the following morning

Yes, Fabio earned his shot and he's now the champ because Usyk VACATED the belt which you seem to have a big problem comprehending

Again, Usyk's impeccable conduct in and out of the ring absolutely matters because his track record is beyond reproach and therefore he has earned some grace of which you are loath to afford him as single iota

Comical isn't it? Even if Usyk was 29 with everything still to prove and not about to turn 39 after having cleaned out the champs and highest rated contenders in 2 divisions it wouldn't be uncommon even for the ATGs and legends but, as I've been saying for ages, the rules change when it comes to Usyk and he's not allowed to do once at 39 y/o what his fellow greats did numerous or many times during their primes

He gives the haters so little ammo to hate on him they have to cling to anything they can no matter how minor to do so

No, you refuse to criticize Usyk when you yourself know he's going for a soft touch, when you criticize other fighters for it just fine. Soft touches are soft touches, it's hypocrisy to turn a blind eye if Usyk does it. Call it what it is. I'll let this whole thing go if you can manage to type "if Usyk fights with Wilder with belts on the line, its a disgraceful match and a paper defense", but you can't, because you aren't being objective, you are saying all this purely because you like the guy.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO BEATS WHO, what matters is Wardley deserves the shot. If Derrick Lewis deserved the shot and Jones didn't fight him he'd still be a duck, it's not about who wins.

Jones is a loser and I’m glad he’s essentially black listed from the UFC

The hypocrisy is crucifying Usyk for doing once at 39 y/o when well past his prime after a career of impeccable conduct fighting the best B2B or tough challenges B2B on a deck stacked against him when virtually every other champ in history fought numerous or many soft touches in their prime

This is getting ridiculously tedious as I've explained things as thoroughly as I can.

I'm going to sleep for a few hours and I will come back to it tomorrow

No they all didn't and you're not holding him to the same standard you're holding him to a completely different one because he has never done it in his prime and his ''soft touch'' is one of the hardest punchers of all time and in your own words anything can happen in boxing. Most of their zero threat soft touches didn't even have a puncher's chance

You're just looking to crap on Usyk and you will latch onto anything you can in order to do so.

Now ''let it go'' until tomorrow? Can you do that?
