Joe Calzaghe fans are actually insane LOL

One of the most overrated fighters of all time. Guy got dropped by a 45 year old Hopkins and shot to **** 42 year old Roy and people here will have him beating Kov/Beterbiev/Bivol and then actual CW's

Calzaghe beats Canelo Degale GGG Froch and loses to the rest of the names mentioned. Calzaghe was unbeaten but old Hopkins had him down and would have got the nod if not for his white boy comments,a shot Jones had him down and Reid deserved at least a draw .

i think he manages to not get ko'd and touches beterviev enough to get the decision. if it doesn't happen in the uk, maybe he loses a decision. still think he covers up beterviev with busy, but maybe not in this case.

Why is DeGale even there? Benavidez should be on the list. The real best 168 of his era.

Super Joe UDs GGG, Clenelo, Froch, Ward

    Stops Degale

If Ward can last the distance or beat Kovalev there's zero reason why Joe couldn't vs that version of Kovalev. Do people actually think Ward has a better chin than Joe? Joe is the much more athletically gifted and tougher fighter of the two. Ward isn't half as successful as he was if you take away his incessant cheating and octopus grabbing

    Beterbiev I'm not sure about

Joe vs Bivol would be intriguing

We never saw Joe at CW just like we never saw prime Joe at LHW but Briedis would be too big

Huck might too but he's very crude and Joe could use his speed and skills and outbox him. In fact, even though we never saw Joe at CW I'd favour him to beat Huck

Biggest issue for Joe vs Beterbiev and Kov is that he had a tendency to get into a tear-up as opposed to being disciplined. And against those two especially I think that would be a real bad thing. But he had a tremendous beard (just check the shots he swallowed vs Robin Reid), great recovery and insane engine / stamina, and on his very best nights (Lacey especially) he would have been very frustrating for anyone in the list.

Peak Kovalev was on point. Great jab that could nullify a lot of JC's movement and output, not to mention was a legit offensive weapon that could do harm. Oh, and that acuraye straight right that could do damage. I'd take Kovalev over JC.

    He gets KO’d by GGG
He wins a decision against Canelo
He wins a decision against Froch
He wins a decision against DeGale
    He stops Kovalev
He wins a decision against Beterbiev
He wins a decision against Bivol
He wins a decision against Ward
He wins a decision against Breidis
    He stops Huck

So overall 9-1. You literally can’t out point Calzaghe because he will always out work you. Every time you hit him he will hit you back ten times. The only way he loses is by getting knocked out because his defence was his own weakness that was almost exposed when he stepped up to LH. I think only GGG has the combination of precision and power to knock him out.

Those two knockdowns you mentioned were arguably the only rounds Calzaghe ever lost in his entire career. You are severely underrating him.

He beats everyone in history at 168lbs .That's his division. and yes he was THAT GOOD.

Move him up one or two divisions and he only loses to the elites because it's not his division.

When you get up from being dropped and WIN the fight, being dropped doesn't matter. And actually shows you can come back from adversity,

Also why you gotta lie about ages. Roy was a similar age to Calzaghe, Roy was 39 (not 42 like you claim), Calzaghe was 36. Calzaghe was more past it than Jones considering it was his last fight and he retired straight after the fight, and Jones continued for many years after that.. Don't forget Calzaghe moved up to Jones' weightclass too.

Hopkins was was still a very good fighter at that point despite being 43 (not 45 like you claim) vs Calzaghe who was 36, Hopkins was probably the best ever 43 year in history at that point, considering after the fight he went on to beat Kelly Pavlik, Jean Pascal and Tavoris Cloud and unify the light heavyweight world titles. Calzaghe moved up to light heavy and beat him clearly in Hopkins' own weighclass.

Roy had been shot for 4 years since he was dominated and knocked out by Glenn Johnson, so you claiming Joe was more past it is hilarious. Roy kept fighting when he was shot for many years, he should have retired in 2004 when he couldn't even let his hands go vs Johnson and got stopped.

Prime Roy would knock out slapper Calzaghe who went life and death with Robin Reid. Roy was 2 months shy of 40 when he fought him.

Calzaghe had all sorts of injury problems, his hands were ****ed. If you think that was prime Calzaghe then you're clueless.

    Shoulda woulda coulda lol

Calzaghe was never ever knocked out, or ever lost. Jones lost 10 times and was knocked out 5 times. Keep making your excuses

Calzaghe found a way to win versus every man he ever fought every time. You can't put a guy with one of the worst chins in history and with double digit losses in the same sentence as him.

All tough fights for Joe tbh.

    1. Joe by majority decision as Joe's beard was pretty decent and GGG's power doesn't travel up to 168 IMO. And Joe's output is just too much and he can move well (+ throw while moving) and fight with grit (hold his ground without ceding (too much) ground).

    2. Joe - split decision but robbed by corruption - too much volume for Nelo. Too much corruption for Joe in the end though.

    3. Joe by majority decision. Makes Carl look silly.

    4. Joe by majority decision. Degale gases as per usual and loses the backend of the fight. A fairly technical affair.

    5. Kov by KO. Too strong too technical. Not Joe's prime weight.

    6. Beterbiev by KO. Too powerful - it's a foregone conclusion IMO.

    7. Bivol by split decision. Too good a counter puncher and Joe's volume would leave himself open all night long.

    8. Ward by split decision. Close, technical fight but Ward was a thinking fighter seasoned with the dark arts. Would figure Joe out quite quickly IMO.

    9. Briedis by KO. Briedis was a great fighter with huge technical ability. And he could punch. Too much size for Joe imo.

    10. Huck (probs). Not sure who wins here, not seen much of Huck. But, I'd go out on a hunch that Huck is bigger so would have advantage.

4/10 wins, but a fantastic resume if that was accomplished haha

    1. Joe Calzaghe vs GGG - 168lbs-Calzaghe decision
    2. Joe Calzaghe vs Saul Canelo Alvarez - 168lbs- Calzaghe decision
    3. Joe Calzaghe vs Carl Froch - 168lbs- Calzaghe decision
    4. Joe Calzaghe vs James DeGale - 168lbs- Calzaghe decision
    5. Joe Calzaghe vs Sergey Kovalev - 175lbs- Tough one, thinking Joe edges it but he could get caught and put away. I feel the longer it goes the more it favors Joe
    6. Joe Calzaghe vs Artur Beterbiev - 175lbs-Beterbeiv maybe by stoppage
    7. Joe Calzaghe vs Dmitry Bivol - 175lbs- Bivol by decision
    8. Joe Calzaghe vs Andre Ward - 175lbs- Ward by decision
    9. Joe Calzaghe vs Mairis Breidis - 185-188lb Catchweight- Breidis
    10. Joe Calzaghe vs - Marco Huck 185-188lb Catchweight- Huck
