Terence Crawford announces retirement

I mean fair enough. Hes had a great career, he had very little options bar a Canelo rematch at best.

 

Not against that at all. 38 years old with nothing else to prove and also just winning in the biggest fight of his career. I think this is a good time for him to ride off into the sunset. Enjoy retirement champ.

If he is truly retiring, he had one of the best careers anyone can imagine. Undisputed in multiple weight classes. One of the greatest fighters of this generation.

Fair enough but I guarantee him and Canelo will rematch in September when they are done cycling.

 

He is a bitter wanka I saw him on twitter taking shots at Pacquiao and Manny responded with class.
The only names on Crawford's resume worth dick are Canelo and Spence who were both compromised.
Yeah he was a great fighter but he didn't really prove much and is going to pretend to take the moral high ground to say he has retired on top.
His buddy Turki put him on top of the P4P list when we all know that Usyk is the man. It reminds me of Andre Ward the old "poor me I was under appreciated" when the truth is nobody liked you because you were a jerk off even 90% of US fans wanted Spence to whoop his ass.

 

I can’t deny Crawford was obviously a great fighter but at the same time I absolutely hated how he fought once a year. He could have done a lot better than that.

However, there just isn’t much options for him atm.

What a duck. Can't even face a shot plodder canelo again. When Usyk rematched all comers, in their back yard. Big gulf in glass. P4P my ass.

 

Wish we could've gotten to see him in one or two more bouts but retirement makes sense. The only fight that would've made sense for him at this point was Janibek, but with him popping dirty there wasn't really anything left on the table.

Ultimately I think he's had an ATG career and has proved himself as the third best and greatest fighter of the 21st century (atleast for now) behind Manny and Floyd. I will say that I do think he kind of underachieved on the resume front though. Despite the Spence and Canelo fights being massively impressive and Canelo in particular being a historic win, his resume outside of those two and a few others could've been better if he hadn't been avoided by some guys at 140-147 and had been managed better. Still, he's had a great run and has nothing left to prove. If he's truly retired then I'll miss being able to watch him fight. A true master boxer.
