Yeah, fickle fans. You'd be hard pressed to find posts prior to the Spence fight were people were saying that the car accident took a lot out of Spence. Then the ass whoopin was administered and Spence was a broken shell of himself. Then the Canelo fight happens, again, before the fight, Canelo was too big and strong, Canelo gonna sent Bud back to Nebraska on a stretcher. After the ass whoopin was administered, Canelo is damn near senile and will be wearing adult diapers in a few months. LOL
Honestly pretty sad to see Bud leave so suddenly since he was only NOW just becoming a more well known, popular fighter although a little too late in his career already. I would have loved to have seen him at least fight Janibek, defended the 168 title against someone like Mbilli or Sheeraz, or fought the winner of Boots vs Ortiz. Pretty frustrating that Janibek totally blew his shot by popping dirty and unable to show how good he really is against Lara. And then you also have Bud being stripped of the WBC title leaving Mbilli and Sheeraz to fight for it. And then there’s also Boots just barely making his way to 154 and having his own business with Vergil Ortiz. Bud can’t fight everyone of course but it would have been nice to have seen him fight one more time before the end of the year but I also fully respect his decision to leave with his health still intact and on his own terms. Best of luck to a great fighter.
It's funny isn't it?? Some people would rather die than to give a fighter their due with no excuses and move on.
He proved a lot of people wrong beating Canelo but it was a pretty lackluster fight not really some boxing masterclass like some people said it was.
He arguably beat Thurman and Brook fight was close despite that 1 wonky scorecard. Spence fight also came down to the wire by a round or 2. Bud stopped Porter and contrary to belief was up on the cards.
Who is Loma? Did he fight? What weight? People always like to focus on the negative of fighters. I think we all do that from time to time. I think Bud is a special talent and would have beaten everyone on his resume in peak form. I feel he would have beaten a prime Thurman and pre Fundora Tszyu as well. I give his resume a solid B.
In reality he is not greater than Loma just because he is undefeated. Loma took more risks and has a better resume. Loma was also ducked by many other good fighters.
No matter what he does it will never be enough. Funny people calling for a Canelo rematch and in the same breath say how shot he is????
He had a good career but it's an open forum where people can give their opinion and make their own assessment of his career we don't all have to bow down and worship his bunghole just because he has retired.
