Yeah, you don't know at this stage, that's true.

I just watched it, nothing there. He tried to hit him and didn't. It was not a KO in the making.

The fans were booing by the second round...Joshua 4 of 26 in the second. By the 4th round Paul is falling all over the place, and the ref is giving him time-outs to recover. At this point AJ should have stopped him easily, he's down twice in the 5th and easily KO'd if AJ presses for it, but he waits til the 6th. I can't help but think that was what Paul needed and wanted to look like he would win a moral victory.

In any event, this fight will be very forgettable, as will Jake Paul.

ok Michio Kaku. it's absurd to question a predictably dull and questionable performance from a top prizefighter against an influencer on a Netflix event and refs/judges in boxing are pure hearted noble individuals. You right.

He took Paul's best right surprisingly well in the 5th, I think. Paul is 215 lbs after all and has decent pop, but AJ didn't even blink.

Joshua is clearly not going full gas to try and cut off or hurt Paul until the knockout.
There are plenty of opportunities for him to punch, he might be past prime but he can clearly still pull the trigger against this YouTuber he just coasts/carries him for several rounds, eases up when he has him on the ropes.

‘Aj is just taking it cautious, getting some proper rounds in’ , hard to ‘prove’ against that, or say what exactly constitutes fixing or carrying or someone. From what I saw this fight is on the level of taking the ****, which is fixing as far as I’m concerned. It’s played out as a legitimate fight, people are betting on it, it’s dodgy, it’s BS. You know Joshua is getting paid to carry this guy at least to some extent.

The fact it was free to view is enough. If it was pay per view Paul doesn’t last a round, even they know they couldn’t get away with that level of filth

You're surprised Joshua can take a punch from a blown-up light-heavy/small cruise, local club-fighter level opponent?

That just shows how low Joshua's chin is generally regarded.

Nah, they were easy basic yes or no questions.

You thinking my posts are psuedo intellectual is just more insecurities on your part. You think because I ask you to look at his body mechanics when throwing the punch to judge his intentions and force, its psuedo intellectual? Jesus christ lol.

No, im hitting people with flat earth who claim the fight was fixed to solely carry Jake, as a business transaction.

Ive stated multiple times boxers 'carry' their opponents all the time in the sense you yourself are alluding to. That doesnt constitute a rigged/fixed fight, or even a genuinely proper carry.

AJ was content to take his time and whenever the KO came it came. Thats not a genuine carry any more then happens a million times a year in boxing. Its part of boxing.

A real carry is the overt intent to not hurt your opponent in order to carry them to a certain round, or the distance. Thats not what AJ was doing.

If someone thinks he was going soft, I agree to an extent, and its also quite common at this level (at AJs level). Aged, high level pros tend to take their time even against overmatched opponents.

If someone thinks he had a criminal deal in place to extend the fight to a certain round, yes, thats a bir ludicrous to me given what the fight shows, given whats at stake. All so Jake can embarrass himself by flopping and running all over and get his jaw broke in 6 when he stops running.

As for me mocking judges and refs being corrupt, youre 1000% objectively and verifiably wrong. Ive always railed against corrupt refs and corrupt judges. The corruption in boxings establishment is obvious.

Theres even some fights that I think the fighters fix in one way or another, usually by one fighter taking dive.

So not sure where youre getting that from.

But just because theres corruption in boxing doesnt mean I think guys like Canelo and Joshua are making criminal deals with their opponents to fix their fights.

Officiating corruption is apples and oranges (due to the nature of how its done. the lack of personal effect on them, the ease of which its done and the more subtle nature of their incentives) to Joshua and Jake personally risking their brands on the world stage to agree to stage a mock fight in HD, pulling punches, missing on purpose, choreographing a fight of inches, until round 6 when AJ can then break Jakes jaw.

Anyways. Ive reread my posts in here after badbot quoted me... I do admit Im coming off a bit strong on the talking down to those thinking this was fixed, but its so tiring hearing the fixed talk with imo dumb reasonings, and avoidance of the obvious, after every big fight 'doesnt look right' and doesnt go how people think they would. It never ends and its like clockwork.

If JP had more time to acclimatise to the Heavyweight division, possibly a few fights against some top 100 guys, which would have greatly benefited his stamina and power, this actually would have been a competitive contest.

JP landed several crisp power shots on AJ's button but there was no pop behind them.

The first right hand and jabs AJ took made him "semi-wobble" a bit, but he took the 2nd one that splashed sweat around quite well. But 3-4 more of those and the glass chin dosser could've been in some potential trouble.

    1. AJ is just a very inept boxer when compared against the 'mythical' AJ that he was hyped as for years. I thought everyone knew that by now. He's a plodder with average ring IQ. He's become an increasingly slow starter, and he's not getting any better.

    2. AJ's fought even worse boxers than Jake Paul and not put them out inside 1 round, and that was when he was young and probably a lot better than he is now.

^ Once people accept these known facts, there's really nothing to 'explain'.

I do have questions about it, yes.

And I'm not surprised he didn't get his lights turned off, but more that he didn't even take a step back, reset. It didn't show on him at all. And there's been plenty huge punchers around Paul's size so that doesn't have to mean much. Of course he's not a Tyson, or even Haye, but he does seem to have some pop.

I thought Joshua would do in the second or third what happened on the 6th.

Jake was on his bike and spoiling which is always going to make it difficult but it took Joshua way longer than it should have done to work him out. His feet were just so slow.

Bet Fury finds his pen all of a sudden.

You can say that about many recent boxers. Not least Fury, who seriously was held up as a bigger version of Mayweather or some such. Loma was hailed as the TBE after Walters and Rigo, etc, etc.
