Before the AJ fight, people would have said Canelo would KO Jake (some posters here talked like they could...).

If they ever fight now, I don't see Canelo doing that, and he may end up going a whole fight with him (Jake losing by points).

Canelo will be much better at cutting off the ring on Jake than AJ was, so it could happen, but it's silly to say that Jake doesn't have a decent chin on him.

 

It's still not impossible, though if Jake's durable enough even to take mid power punches from AJ he can probably survive Canelo...

Then again, it depends how both fight and how much accumulation is involved.


Either way, I just can't believe for a moment that one of the biggest punchers of the era can't knock out a small cruiser with ease if he actually committed to his punches - it's ludicrous.

 

Yeah not sure what some of these guys are on. Canelo would kill him. The fact that these discussions still exist shows you why there's a market for Jake Paul. I'm genuinely laughing reading some of the comments in this thread.

 

I don't know about killing him - it's possible he knocks him out, though... Depends how much AJ was really holding back - and how much that KO took out of Paul, you just don't know sometimes.

I don't for a moment think Paul could beat canelo in a straight fight - but it's far from impossible he sees the final bell.

The fact it's an open question is why it sells... Heck, the same goes for this one - morbid curiosity as to whether it was fixed or not was enough to sell it (and the debate afterwards has raised his profile even more - so he's gained even in defeat).

Years back Jake would have easily
been DQed for his lack of effort and his purse held.
I mean he landed SIXTEEN punches In SIX ROUNDS.
In round 1 he landed TWO punches out of TEN he threw.
In round 2 he land ONE out of SIX thrown. Let that sink in.

 

And NO better man could indeed get them in!
