We don’t need to do list all the fighters he’d have fought, he wouldn’t be moving up and down all the time in stronger eras with less divisions anyway would he.

    No
I already said those divisions are stronger, but Floyd wouldn’t be beating the best guys in them. Then there’s the big one which you seem to be forgetting about which heavyweight which Rocky dominated with a record ko percentage as well, being a small guy.

You just overrate Floyd and underrate Rocky like many do

    So what?

And this is you being objective?

Floyd has a better overall resume. And he fought until his late 40’s.

Two things that have huge relevance, when ranking someone.

He’d have dominated most at CW, yes. Yet you have only named just TWO great CW’s.

Think about that for a second.

You are all over the place here.

    Zero objectivity.

    No.

And Rocky wouldn’t have fought at HW in a modern era.

I’m not all over the place, you just can’t seem to give Rocky any props.

Nothing in Floyd’s sacred resume suggests he’d be a dominant lightweight or welterweight in most eras which is what he’d have to be to way ahead of Rocky like you seem to think he is.

    Cruiserweight
With a great style to beat some of the best even in Heavyweight such as Ali which has been discussed and admitted by Ali and contemporaries.

No chance Floyd has of beating the best at lightweight or welter. Not good enough, for all his skills

No, Floyd wouldn’t have been favoured to have beaten all of those guys.

    Because they were great fighters.

Yet you have only put 2 fighters for Rocky to have fought at CW.

Again, Rocky dominated a weak era with small fighters.

When you had a former MW with 180 fights on his resume being a champion, what does that tell you??

No, I have not overrated Floyd and underrated Rocky.

I have used the exact same criteria for both fighters:

    Ability
    Overall resume
    Wins
    Accomplishments
    Longevity

If you use that criteria, Floyd comes out ahead.

If you don’t want to use that criteria, then:

    1. Why not?

    2. What other criteria do you want to use?

    You have underrated Rocky
Rocky and Floyd were dominant in weak eras respectively.

What cruisers would you favour over Rocky?

Rocky would be pretty good odds against Ali, Frazier, Dempsey, perhaps not favourite but he’s the smallest.
Mayweather has less chance against the best lightweights or welters.

consider that and forget about who won more title fights, in talking about them against the best guys their own size, that’s what ability is, ability isn’t just longevity or resume

    1. I am ranking them objectively on what they actually did.

    2. Fantasy match ups are a different debate altogether.

Now you are talking absolute nonsense.

    It’s embarrassing.

You’re now telling me that Floyd would had to have beaten all the best WW’s in history etc, to have out ranked Rocky?

    Ha!

He out ranks Rocky today, with what he did. Using fair criteria. Criteria, which you have actually agreed with.

    CW.

A division, where you have only named just TWO great fighters.

Why have you only named just TWO great fighters??

I agree that Floyd wouldn’t have beaten ALL of the best LW’s and WW’s throughout history.

    Why?

Because they’d have been a HUGE list of great opponents for him to have fought, instead of just the TWO that you’ve listed for Rocky.

I never said he’d have to beat all the best welters did I.

it’s part of the same argument if you want to see who the greater fighter is.

If you base it purely on resume you should have Pac over Floyd or Wlad over Ali

embarrassing is you being incapable of a more eloquent reply than resume ability resume

I asked you to name some but you haven’t bothered

you haven’t even chosen one lightweight or welter from those lists, because Mayweather isn’t favourite against any of them.

This so called great fighter isnt favourite over any other great fighter in his two strongest divisions?

    I have not underrated him.

    I don’t think I’d have many CW’s against him.

But what if there’d have been 20 guys who fought at CW, who’d have been at the level of Evander and Usyk?

    Then what??

Frazier and Dempsey were small HW’s, who had similar styles.

So of course Rocky would had more chance of beating them, than what Floyd would have had of beating the best WW’s of all time.

Do you really need me to explain, that that is another comparison by you, which isn’t a fair one.

    What are you talking about??

I have given you FAIR criteria, with FIVE parts to it.

I haven’t based it just on resume.

Are you even reading the posts??

    Eloquent?

    Are you serious??

    Look at your own posts.

Trying to do a comparison with 2 great fighters, compared with around 20 from multiple divisions?? SMH.
