Joshua V Fury: Who is more washed?

It was good performance from Fury he showed good skills feinting and moving winning most of the rounds even the rounds he got floored in he comeback strong.

I'm not a fan of Fury but it was a brave performance from him after the lay off. Unfortunately 1 judge had already made up their mind prior to the fight somehow scoring it for Wilder bizarrely.

 

Not much in it to be honest.

 

Fury is CRAZY in a way that is almost a positive.

It’s hard to explain but he will go from zero to 100 and be super focused after not taking care of himself for months.

AJ has mental issues too but his have no positive impact

 

Yes, you can't question his heart against Dubois, but certainly his focus at the end of the first round. He had no business getting caught by that right, and that was the decider. He never recovered enough to have a chance.

It was like he mentally already was on the break, even though Dubois was very aggressive throughout the round. That is something you just can't do.

 

If I’m not mistaken, sometime around the time Fury fought Whyte, he had elbow surgery twice in a short space of time and I feel since then he’s never quite looked the same. Still did ok against Usyk all the same. But he’s been insanely inactive.

I don’t think AJ is washed though. Just low on confidence

 

I think it is about a push. Fury does rely more on reflexes and movement and his weight fluctuations are and will continue to catch up with him. I would say Joshua has more in the tank but he took a nasty beating from Dubois and looked gun shy at times vs Helenius.

I favor Fury best for best but I think its a close fight at the moment

 

Physically Fury.
Mentally AJ.

 

I want to say physically Fury, mentally AJ. It's a good assessment. Then again, this implies that there was at one point a mentally much stronger version of Joshua that no longer exists. Is that the case? He showed some heart while getting pummeled and ultimately stopped by Dubois in his last fight.

I think Joshua is the same guy he always has been. He isn't going to sell out against a boxer like Usyk when he clearly has to. He isn't going to gather himself and recover in a round or two if he gets knocked down (the "mentally prime" version still took 4+ rounds to recover against 41 year old Vladimir). He isn't going to react well against a pressure fighter like Dubois.

Fury's body is clearly a shell of the 25 year old who beat Klitschko in Germany. There's no mystery why.

Tough to say because they are a different kind of washed. Joshua is mentally fragile, Fury is at the age when he will be unable to get in shape due to years of abusing his body. I actually think it's apples to oranges.

 

I think while Fury has declined physically, it's not as detrimental as the clear mental decline that AJ has gone through since Ruiz 1. That, to me, will ultimately cost him against Fury when the going gets tough.

 

AJ smells funny

AJ has only ever had two advantages over Fury - healthier lifestyle and raw power. Neither of which can overcome Furys advantages in all other areas.

An analogy for me could be similar with two old cas.

One's high milage with a dodgy engine* but excellent showroom shine bodywork and running gear

The other is rusted and falling apart but with a sound engine*

You could make one good car utilising both..

 

Joshua is probably more washed at this point

 

Shame it is nearly a decade overdue
But it will still be entertaining
