I don't think Holyfield ever legitimately beat Bowe or drew with Lewis, these fights were also on neutral ground and at home respectively so he didn't have to deal with the "B-side" disadvantages that Usyk does. Moorer was a blown-up light heavyweight who lacked power and had serious chin problems at heavyweight, especially by the time of the Holyfield rematch.

Holyfield is still the gold standard for cruiser-heavyweights because he gave the best account of himself against elite super-heavyweights (better than Haye) and had a number of decent/good wins at heavyweight. But If Usyk was to school or stop a prime AJ while several years past his prime and up against British Matchroom corruption, that would be the best ever cruiser-heavy win and by some distance.

Comments BEFORE Usyk's great wins at HW

And now the haters try and water down the great HW wins that were considered almost impossible beforehand.

He was written off by so many beforehand cause of the mammoth task ahead, now they talk very differently lol.

Usyk = one of the GOATS. LEGEND.

Preposterous question to even ask, really. He was without doubt an ATG already at cruiserweight.

He was Olympic champion and then unified Cruiser and Heavyweight, unbeaten, never been knocked down as pro also. No robberies in Canelo or Ward style, no dirty fighting. What else he can do to be all-time-great if that is not enough then ?

No scandals outside of ring also, being Ukranian is not a reason to hate him, even if he was Russian instead. This is sport not politics. He is also not a weight bully, not biggest puncher but finds a way to win.

    It’s hard to say

on one hand , you could say, boxing has evolved , the modern skilled super heavies are insurmountable, nobody of historically average heavy size/weight can beat them. Usyk is a god because he did that. He’s the goat

But then you could say, these modern heavies are big slow lumbering giants, if Ali/Frazier/Holmes/whoever was in this era they have a field day.

I think Usyk is in the middle somewhere, he’s beeen able to expose these fighters due to being the only current heavy with ATG skills.

But, I can’t rate him too highly because i always thought that the current heavy era was weak and if there was one skilled guy committed to his craft then the division is there for the taking.

I rate Usyk somewhere around where I rate Wlad, just outside of the top ten. It’d be nice to rate Usyk higher but I see quite a few heavies beating Fury/Joshua at least as easy as Usyk.

He’s borderline ATG, at least. I think he benefits from an over-evaluated competition though, Im not sure he’s as good as Golovkin for example.
    Superb fighter though
