Robinson's defense primarily relied on his height etc, that's why at WW he wasn't in danger the way he was at MW and LHW. As a boxer-puncher he was always vulnerable to swarmer/pressure fighters as most of them are.
Good post. I think Ray cruised at times but at other times he didn't too. All three of your examples killed a guy in the ring, which i thought you were actually leading up to. Do you think this had a little to do with taking it easier than they could have at times? I've seen a lot of talk that it took a bit out of Charles killer instinct. You're well researched, what do you think?
I dont know. Thats a good question. Its hard to say with Robinson and Charles because they killed fighters before we have a lot of film of them. Griffith always fought that way though.
