Russia vs Ukraine mega bout at Cruiserweight. Yes Bivol is smaller but Bivol beat Ramirez who’s the same height as Usyk. Usyk’s age is making him slower and he has never fought anybody as quick or slick as Bivol.
I agree to an extent, the entire sport would be surprised at how much Bivol would frustrate Usyk. It's an 8-4 type fight imo Still, Usyk is a different hostile planet compared to Ramirez. Bivol has to be bare minimum as good as Spinks to best this aged Usyk and he's not. I have no confidence that Bivol can even beat Opetaia
He has a much better chance then people think because the rarity of LHWs going up to HW makes the gap seem bigger then it actually is. I would still pick Usyk to win a 9-3, 8-4 kinda fight like Florez said. I think Bivol is the worst of the three Bs. And I would like the chances of a younger Beterbiev or Benavidez more but I would still pick Usyk and I would still pick most top HWs. While the rarity of LHWs going up to HW is artifical and doesn't match their likelihood of winning a title it still makes it hard to pick LHWs to win over HWs you might otherwise think were vulnerable.
Dmitry Bivol to be torn apart in a one-sided beating, Usyk is the more skilled, bigger and stronger man who knocked out the massive Dubois and almost knocked out Fury, Dmitry Bivol simply would not have seen the end of the fight...
Yeah fighting a bigger opponent who is a better boxer, p4p a harder hitter and more dynamic in general. Recipe for disaster. Bivol has been MIA since "beating" Beterbiev for all of the belts where he was extremely happy to see the end of the 12th. Bivol isn't the same caliber of fighter as these guys. He wouldn't have been able to overcome what Usyk overcame against Fury in their first meeting, that kind of sustained pressure always seems to break Bivol as it did in the 1st meeting with Beterbiev. Fortunately for him Beterbiev got going a bit too late this time and he was able to eek out a razor thin decision. These threads are hilarious. None of these people rated Bivol before he beat the overrated manufactured Clenelo who has never beaten a top elite fighter without controversy. Now he's going to jump up two weight classes and give Usyk problems and possibly beat him.
I rated Bivol. He wouldn't beat Usyk but a 195lb Bivol beating a ranked heavyweight isn't far fetched
Gassiev is ranked in the top 10 now. I wouldn't write Bivol off, I'd certainly favor Bivol over 44 year old Pulev
I can see how someone created this possibility in their mind, but Bivol is way too small for Usyk. Bivol could have rematched Canelo at 168, which is proof. If they were the same size, it might be competitive, but I would still favour Usyk. If they fought now, Bivol might run in similar fashion to the 24 rounds against Beterbiev, but he would not win. Knowing Usyk, he would clearly outpoint him, but could knock him out if he really stepped on the gas.
General rule : If usyk explains why he does not want to fight somebody or he drops a belt you know he would loose the fight against this opponent .
