Nunns got some scary KO's too broski

 

I really like Nunn here.

He was the avoided guy for a brief amount of time when zero of the oldsters wanted to fight the youthful up and comer with that set of tools.

 

I dunno. Thought it was Tate that was the one that they wanted to avoid especially after he beat Olajide for one of the titles an then stopped Sibson? Nunn yeah was also avoided but not because they thought he was too good like tate but because he was thought as a safety first runner who stank the place out an no one needed to fight a guy like that, course this all change when tate defended against Nunn an Nunn surprised everyone by just manhandling Tate an showing his full set of skills in maybe his greatest ever career performance

I would take that Nunn to beat Hearns though that power of Hearns will always give him a chance

 

Hearns wasn't at his best at Middleweight but Nunn is a tricky boxer and Hearns never got outboxed in his career.

The fighters who beat Hearns were very hard hitters and they pressured Hearns willing to walkthrough his power.

Nunn is not a hard hitter apart the anamoly vs Kalambay and he's not going to walkdown Hearns and take flush punches off him.

I think boxing at range vs a KO punching sharpshooter like Hearns is not the way to beat him.

I'd favour Hearns TBH.

 

Exactly the way I see see. Hearns's initial aggression would keep Nunn in
defensive mode. If he doesn't catch him early like he did Shuler.
In a 12 rd fight Hearns cruises on to a decision win.

 

I'm still 50/50 on this match up since you can make a case for either fighter. Hearns was hard to outbox and obviously had the power to hurt Nunn bad but Nunn was usually hard to hit, very quick, tricky stylist, could box on the outside and fight up close, and had underrated power where he hits hard enough to catch Hearns by surprise. Whether it's a tactical fight or a straight up shootout I personally think having a decision or KO win for either guy is very likely, that's how even a match up I see it.

 

I'm leaning Nunn. That little run at 160 was crazy and Hearns has nothing comparable to it at 160 you're dragging up what Hearns accomplished at lower weights if you're picking him is my gut instinct. Peak Nunn was such a monster I can only pick legit 160 pounders against him... Haglers and Monzons... I can't pick guys moving up in weight to beat somebody like that...
