Holmes vs Mercer is super underrated. And Benn vs Mclellan was awesome. But I think the reason why that isn't discussed as much is the horrifying after effects. I'm not saying that,Benn did that to him, there were other ingredients involved.

The lightweight had never been stopped. The lightweight had beaten SRL for his welterweight title. The lightweight had taken Hagler 15 awkward and tricky rounds.

The lightweight was so much more than a "lightweight".

I know what you mean but still. And I will give Tommy credit. He is really the only one that knocked Duran out. And maybe I am making a bigger deal out of the wait than it was.

    I could be wrong

Duran-Leonard I for unveiling the god of war as Springs Toledo wrote.
    Saddler-Pep II was a masterpiece.
    Louis-Schmeling feels underrated.
Charles beating Burley the way he did.

Louis - Schmeling probably was bigger than Manny / Mayweather at that time considering how politically loaded the fight was.
Being Heavyweight Champion then and eing Heavyweight Champion today are not the same.
