Two of the best of the best in their respective divisions, clearin' 'em, rulin' 'em and then stoppin' for a cup of tea on a higher weight class and winnin' a tidal.
George got the two losses to the Matthews but honestly, we shouldn't overlook Jones "win" against Reyes, he clearly robbed him imo.

Jon, but its very close. The quality of wins makes the difference for me.

GSP Jones is overrated AF only few quality wins. GSP consistently beat way better fighters

Dis but what I dislike mostly about Jones is the costant eyepokes and multiple failed drug-tests.

Also where do y'all place Silva as well?

Lower then most tbh he was good for his time but he looked as good as he did because of how bad striking was in his era. The moment he fought more well schooled guys or those that forced him to lead he didn't look nearly as good (Weidman, Bisping). So probably either lower end of top ten or just below the top ten.

He was 38 and 40 against Weidman and Bisping. And Bisping didn’t force him to lead, he literally pressured him the whole match.

Eh I disagree with this one, someone here placed him as the UFC equivalent of Roid Jones and I guess it works, most of their losing streak came when they were outta their prime. Idk about beating Weidman, he built a resume of shot fighters from his title defenses until Rockhold exposed him tho. I can see Anderson beating Bisping fairly easily had Anderson returned to his prime, hell, I might open a thread about this later like the one I did for Roy a year ago.

He never gave him the opportunity to counter by doubling up since Silvas counters were based entirely on 1-2s. Same with how Weidman caught Silva in the first fight.

I'm not holding his losses against Silva more so his lack of quality wins.

Yeah but as you said, he did it by doubling up and not giving him any room with his pressure. Not by forcing him to lead.

Tbh, Jon, by a bit. I know people dislike him because hes a ***** but still....

GSP fought better overall opposition but he also got taken out twice in the first round and left the sport in his early 30s. Jon is pushing 40 and after 17 years we still havent even seen him get rocked.

Probably. But it'd be a past his prime guy in the twilight of his career going up a weight class and fighting world champion level guys. GSP didnt fight Anderson Silva either. He also didnt stick around after he came back at MW so we never saw him against actual elite 185'ers.

Bisping was elite when he beat him considering he was the champ but fair enough. But I think GSPs overall resume makes up the difference not taking into account all of Jones controversies. If you fight better fighters you're going to lose more but he clearly avenged both his losses.
