Clean KO ? Almost certainly nobody. But TKO perhaps ? Do you think the likes of Tyson, Louis, Lewis, Wilder etc, could have gotten a clean KO over iron chinned Chuvalo?
Anyone, its HW boxing. But I'd probably give a prime Mike Tyson the highest chance due to styles. ATGs like Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe would have boxed Chuvalo's head off and played it safe enough.
I can see a guy like Lennox just taking it slowly, not attempting to hard to stop him, especially over 15 . No way is George going to out point Lewis so just a matter of getting the W
Of the old time heavyweight s a prime Joe Louis maybe. Joe's sharp, compact combination s , relentless body attack and his perfect balance and devastating punches. Joe could break you down , if anyone can grind Chuvalo down over 15 it's the Bomber.
I'd take Vitali to get the job done. He's not the hardest hitter ever, but he's freaking huge, with a high workrate and simply relentless. He did not get tired. What he did to guys like Briggs would have had him locked up for a long time if there had been no waiver in place. A little dude like Chuvalo getting battered for 15 rounds? Holy hell, he'd look like an extra from a zombie movie if he actually did make the 15.
This. Frazier and Foreman didn't knock him out, but they forced the stoppage. It doesn't feel far fetched to suggest that Joe Louis or Mike Tyson might get the same outcome.
To mention some of the old legends: The earliest heavyweight I’d give a realistic KO chance against George Chuvalo would be Jack Dempsey (1918–1919). Even in his later fights, you can still see how dangerous he was (the long count against Tunney, the Jack Sharkey bout, or big Luis Firpo, whom he knocked down with ease.) Joe Louis is an obvious candidate. Rocky Marciano might also land a bomb at some point, but I see him more winning by late TKO or on points. And of course, prime Sonny Liston would absolutely be one of the top candidates for this task.
