What fighters did Ray Arcel train when working with Duran?

Arcel was getting on in years so i don't believe he would have had a stable. I know he got back into the game after a well-documented hiatus when asked (probably by Carlos Eleta) to train his fighter Alfonso Frazer for his title shot against Nicolino Loche. It was probably at this time he was introduced to Duran. But again, I don't believe he worked with many at this time. Maybe none other than his main man.

 

Was he Durans trainer when Leonard made Duran turn his back an quit? Wonder what what a old time trainer like Arcel thought about that?

 

Yes. He walked away but came back for the Benitez bout then stepped down for good after that

 

Interesting cos Benitez clearly won that fight with room to spare didn’t he? Maybe he thought Duran was totally finished and so walked away?

 

Yes he felt the fire wasn't there and that his best days were behind him

Arcel was to Duran the same as Dundee to Leonard. They both would arrive a few weeks before there fights and plan strategies
