Is Benny Leonard in your top 10 p4p list?

Absolutely. He may be as high as 6th. I've even contemplated a top 5 spot in place of Ezzard Charles, but decided that a total of 11-2 vs Archie Moore, Charley Burley, Jimmy Bivins and Lloyd Marshall is too insane.

I've been saying for years that he belongs in the Top Ten.

No, I don't really rank fighters from his era as a rule boxing was way too different to compare to eras that came after. Great fighter of his era though.

 

He's #1 lightweight all time.

 

Yes, he's my #8 p4p.

In his final 81 fights contested at under 140lbs, from the age of 20 onwards, he went 81-0, against some excellent competition. He has the best record of all time in fights contested at LW, imo.

He also came out on the better end of a series with my #5 WW of all time, Jack Britton, despite not being an especially big LW.

 

I know this will not be popular here, but i have him just outside the top 10 in eleventh place

May I ask what your top 15 looks like and the criteria that you use to discern the ranks?
