Wladimir Klitschko was no better than AJ, he just had a weaker era.

Both were roughly the same size (6'6 240 +- 15 lbs . Both won gold at Super heavyweight in the Olympics.

They fought each other just before AJ's prime and just after Wlad's (27 vs 41) and AJ won a close fight.

Both have losses to guys they should have beaten (Purrity, Sanders, Brewster) vs (Ruiz, Dubois). People on here try to make out like Wlad is well ahead of AJ, but he really isn't. Examine his resume (https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/7035) and you'll see a guy who had way more bums to beat up on and pad up his 64 win 53 KO record early days. Where as AJ was pushed quite early and won a title in his 15th fight. (https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/659461). Wlad won his first title at 34-1.

Wlad managed to avoid or lose before fighting Lennox Lewis, and then obviously refuse to fight the next best guy in his brother.

If Wlad had Usyk in his era, he'd have lost to him too.

To be honest you could make these kinds of arguments with anyone fron any era. You mostly judge guys for what they did in there respective era IMO.

Klitschko would brutally knock him out, he almost did it at 42 and damn near outboxed him too, so how is joshua on prime Klitschkos level ?

Joshua is the nost overrated heavyweight in history. Wish him a speedy recovery tho

    I don't agree.

Joshua could easily be KO'ed by Haye.

Joshua struggled against an old Povetkin it's debatable he beats a prime Povetkin.

There's a few tricky southpaws Wladimir beat that could be troublesome to Joshua. Wladimir's record vs southpaws is actually very impressive.

There's also the likes of Peter, Brewster, tough guys with big power that wouldn't be easy.

Potentially. But people consider Lennox Lewis an ATG and he was thoroughly beaten up by Vitali.

I don't think there's ever been a definitive "the guy" at HW thats unbeatable. Usyk hasn't had enough time at HW to be up for that award.

And Sameul Peter due to his power, aggression and durability, or he could lose a decision to Byrd. There's no way aj could handle Ibrigamov and Eddie Chambers like Klitschko.

Klitschko was also 38 against Bryant Jennings and Pulev, joshua could lose those fights at that stage of his career. Aj is quite overrated h2h

4 rounds to 2 is not "throughly beaten up".

Vitali was the one who needed 60+ stitches and almost went blind in one eye.

AJ would never lose to Ross Purrity... or Brewster if we're being honest.

Tony Thompson and Ibragimov would be easy touches for AJ.

No they wouldn't, Joshua cannot cut the ring. He hasn't beaten any movers. Not even mediocre ones

I think he was a bit better when Manny hardened him up, but AJ, in his brief prime, was better than people gave him credit for, and it was not light-years different. Wlad had a better arsenal and Manny taught him what to do when in trouble.

To be clear, I don't think you are vastly wrong, or anything.

You are talking about pre-Manny fights, though. Wlad became a completely different fighter.

And yeah, Sultan would be a tough fight.

The younger Prime Wlad would tear Joshua apart, Joshua would get discouraged in that fight...

Why do you say that ?

Brewster had an iron chin and had 30 stoppages in 35 wins.

If Joshua tries to take him out and gets caught with a left hook he could be seriously compromised.

If Joshua boxes smartly he could outpoint Brewster yes.

But if Joshua tries to exchange punches with a fighter who can take a hell of a shot and has enough power to seriously trouble him then Joshua could be taken out.

Weak era weak era weak era blah blah

    So boring.

Lets face it there will ALWAYS be someone moaning about the hw era being weak currently because it's highly likely to never go back to an all american dominated division again.

Lets face it, it's code word for non americans dominating.
