His career did take a nosedive.

But there was no shame in losing to Barkley.

Barkley was no pushover. He gave a prime Nunn a great fight.

Terence barely beat Madramov.

Terence fought much easier opposition.

We also don’t know what he’d have done with Barkley, and especially if he’d already lost a few fights before having fought him.

 

Hearns was 29 against Barkley, Crawford was 37 against Madrimov. It's also generally viewed as a clear win for Crawford while Hearns was kayoed without controversy by Barkley.

So not even remotely similar. And of course losing to a guy who went 0 for 3 against Nunn, Kalambay, and even Benn is a bad look for Hearns

 

Benitez and Hill arent all time greats

Leonard was a draw even if you want to give Hearns the unofficial win it was against an older Leonard and at 164

 

Hearns doesn’t have a win that’s as good as Crawford moving up to 168 to beat Canelo.

I like Crawford, I do. He’s excellent. He’s also beaten exactly one guy whose name anyone will remember ten years from now. And that one guy was at the end of his run and seemed propped up by the boxing powers that be much of his career anyway. Let’s pump the brakes on Crawford a little.

 

Adrian Broner is a 4 weight world champion is he better than Marvin Hagler who only ruled at 1 division? Of course not.

Sometimes context needs to be applied rather than just listing stats and numbers.

Crawfords achievements are great no one is denying that but is his opposition great ? Not really no.

Benitez is a great and historically better than Spence by a considerable margin.

At the time Hearns fought Hill who was in his prime he was a better opponent than a shopworn Canelo who had been going through the motions for the past 3 or 4 years.

Leonard has admitted Hearns deserved the nod in their 2nd fight I've also never seen a single fans scorecard scoring the fight favour of Leonard.

The fight is widely considered a robbery.

And in actual fact Leonard was the favourite over Hearns in the rematch despite you trying to criticise Hearns's performance over Leonard.

Leonard was also fresh off stopping Donny Lalonde who was a Light Heavyweight champion.

Leonard at that stage in his career I'd still consider a better H2H opponent than the version of Canelo that Crawford beat.
