Realistically, can Wilder knock out Usyk?

Wilder fought a career best Parker, AJ didn't. He was still rather green and still under Kevin Barry.

And how was Wilder not cautious in his Helenius fight? He retreated on to the ropes and landed a short counter. He took zero risk.

    Have to agree with this

The Parker of now compared to the Parker that fought AJ is a far more complete fighter

    Did he, really, though?

Or did Wilder just make Parker look a million bucks because it was relatively straightforward to win every single round (and people were expecting better from Wilder)?
Or in other words, because Parker was/is a legit contender and Wilder wasn't - if he ever was.

If the apologists were correct, Fury ruined him and he was crap ever since - which I suppose answers "yes" to the above every bit as much as my view that he was simply never that good...

Given how young he was at that time, this certainly seems like a fair comment, nonetheless.

Prime Wilder was a danger to anyone. The current version is a 40 year old, shot shadow of what he was and should present no difficulty to Usyk.

It's more because Parker didn't really improve as a fighter until he left Kevin Barry.

At what point was Parker better would you say?

    Hard to say.

It was a rock solid performance without question - it's just that the unknown level of his opponent makes it difficult to be sure quite how impressive that should really be... It's easier to look good if your opponent isn't.

But he then went on to beat Zhang, fairly comfortable win too despite the knock downs

This period is clearly his best

I'm genuinely not sure of another part of his career you can compare it too

Of course he does. Anyone that can hit as hard as Wilder can knock someone out, including Usyk. If Wilder lands flush, Usyk will go down. But Usky has the ability to nullify big punches. And if the fight happens, I see Usyk whooping up and possibly stopping Wilder.

Fury would love it if deontay smashes Usyk, I’d like to see it just to throw the division open

Usyk should ko Wilder, then retire. If he continues on at his age he will soon enough get ko'd by someone who would have no chance vs a prime Usyk.

Yeah, then Fury could land a title fight vs a bum and regain a title. It is his only chance.

Does Wilder possess the power? Yes, of course he does, this is heavyweight boxing. What is the chance of him landing the KO punch, I'd rank that as rare to zero. Not only does Usyk have a solid chin, his defence is arguably one of the best in boxing, and he remains defensively responsible throughout his fights.
