McDermott? How about Craig Mcdermott? This content is protected How about Mal? Mal Gibson? I'm not talking about a lethal weapon?
Fighters he would like to fight: Manuel Charr Christian Hammer Jermaine Franklin Mike Balogun Gerald Washington
He was going to fight Pulev. Having him fight Gassiev for the WBA I can't believe its not a belt is the perfect option for him.
Wardley would be the best option for him as if he wins he gets a shot at Usyk again. Arslanbek Makhmudov would be a good come back fight too, as a revenge for Allen who was loved by the Brits.
I think Wardley or Dubois would knock Fury out. He really needs to stay away from punchers if he tries to make a comeback at this stage.
I've seen comments from people who genuinely believe Fury will fight Wardley (LOL!). He'll probably fight Gassiev (a UD win?) and later Usyk for a big payday. Fury - Ngannou would be a good matchup, and it would make sense based on how the first fight went. The AJ fight is maybe off the table, and Fury doesn't seem to be interested in it either.
"Fury, serious comeback options" Andy Ruiz or Bakole, wrestling in jelly. Skimpy outfits, PPV on Pornhub.
I don't think so, I think with Fury he'll degrade too sharp and fast. Night and day declining. To the point that he'll become a sad spectacle even with reasonable opponent choices should he try to do what Chisora does/has done Whereas with Chisora, he's shown and proven he can keep plodding along reasonably and pretty much stay competitive with the right dance partners. Plus Chisora's got a whole different stubborn mindset strength.
Maybe he could fix all his asterisks with rematches... Ngannou, followed by Wallin - then maybe try and pull McDermott out of retirement? I suspect anyone expecting tough matchups will be disappointed - he's unlikely to go for anything risky unless the money is crazy, and only Joshua really fits that bill (IF he fights again?).
Looking at his shape (spherical) in that training footage I think you may be right. That said, he looked in appalling shape for Ngannu, then looked in surprisingly ok shape in Usyk 1.
Honestly Wardley is a great matchup for Fury. Fury doesn't deserve a title shot though I don't know why he'd reject one if offered. He will never get an easier chance to be a 2x HW champ. If he won't fight Wardley he might as well pack his bags and go home. The show is over.
