Shannon Briggs vs Zhang

I like Briggs in this one. Zhang has the size advantage but I think Briggs holds every other advantage and if we are talking the younger Briggs, his hand speed would be a big difference maker in this fight. The younger Briggs could really let his hands go and he was blessed with both power and hand speed as a younger fighter. As he got older, he became more of a plodding banger.

Zhang doesn't impress me all that much. Sure he is tough as nails and big but there isn't all that much else to me that is impressive. I don't like how he matches up with Briggs at all.

 

Does Briggs even have the stamina advantage ? lol Zhang by KO. Briggs will be a dangerous fight but Zhang is durable

 

Good point. Briggs Asthma was an issue for him in certain fights, no doubt. He could be inconsistent but at his best, he was pretty deadly with his hand speed and power. Later in his career, he could be lethargic as hell.

I remember Lewis called him the most dangerous guy he ever fought.

Zhang is all wrong to try and bang it out with. And that’s what Briggs would do. Zhang would weather the early storm and stop Briggs mid rounds with a nuclear right hook.

 

I'm going with Zhang, Briggs was a great puncher but Zhang is more lethal so I'm choosing him by knockout...

 

If they had children together, through science, the first one would be named Brang and his boxing nickname would be "The Pain."

 

If Zhang had any sort of a gas tank I'd pick him but he doesn't so ...

Pickem fight. I can see Zhang obliterating Briggs with a nuke as he rushes in and I can also see Briggs in the deeper rounds forcing a TKO on an exhausted Zhang.

 

Zhang by brutal knockout, however if it gets out of the first few rounds, it’s anyone’s fight. They’d both be ****ed…
