Dude, Itauma isn't even interested in Sanchez or Gassiev. He is NOT what this is about. As for Usyk, he changes plans on a semi-monthly basis. It is 2-3...before that it was five...before that it was one more after Dubois rematch...before then is was not sure, maybe MMA, before that it was back to cruiser...
I don't think anybody will regard Wilder as better than Kabayel in 30 years. Or Zhang. Or Wardley. Etc Name recognition won't change that Michael Grant was hugely hyped at one point but everyone today regards him as a hypejob.
have turki hold a 6 man tourney. 3 bouts around the time usyk flatlines wilder. usyk can pick from the winners who he wants next, and the other 2 can fight each other on the same card. that leaves 1 winner for his final bout. it would be legendary. and would bring boxing back to the mainstream culture like it once was. do it, turki. its your ticket to the hof.
Guy... Zhang is a flash in the pan and already gone. Kabayel...maybe. But his best wins are Chisora, Sanchez, Zhang andMakhmudov. That is hardly a list for the ages. Wardley has one very good win against Parker...but literally about 75% of the forum, and I would say by extension all boxing fans, think its dodgy. Kabayel and Wardley have the chance to make what you are saying true, but they aren't there. I would suggest fighting each other. If not, then instead of waiting for Usyk, Wardley ought to advocate for PArker to be reinstalled and granted a rematch, and Kabayel ought to find a better opponent then Knyba.
I think you’re onto something with Ruiz. That would explain why they’re looking to do a multi-fight deal in the US
Surely then he needs to fight Parker (who has already defeated Wilder), Zhang (who absolutely destroyed Wilder) and Kabayel (who subsequently beat Zhang) and Wardley (who susbsequently beat Parker) ...... because from any reasonable view, right now, they're far more important fighters than is Wilder.
Usyk is a great champion and gave a great performance in his last fight, but in a few days he'll be 39, and Father Time is still undefeated (every boxer is different, Hopkins was in his prime at 40, and Fenech was finished at 30). The Ukrainian is a heavy favorite against Wilder, in my opinion the American only has a puncher's chance. But what happens next? I mean, Usyk is a serious athlete and could have another 2-3 top fights, but at his age a decline, more or less marked, is always possible. The future will tell us how Usyk's career will end.
What do those other guys do for his resume, absolutely nothing. Boxing is called prize fighting for a reason. You’d think someone who has fought on the road their whole life career and has the best resume in boxing would get some grace.
