It’s strange, People were fine with brezeale fighting AJ, but when he signed to fight wilder he became a bum
I didn't know that! Was it because Joshua had only had 16 pro fights and making a first defence against undefeated Breazeale and because Wilder had had over 40 fights and was making his 9th defence I think?
Arguably not top ten. I admit you can bump the last two, but Wallin beat Breazele, so the highest you can rank him is 9 WladKlit Parker Povetkin Ruiz Whyte Martin Pulev Wallin Takam Helenius
The guy won a belt, and has a victory over Glazkov, who was undefeated at the time. I am not saying he was ever a first-tier guy, but he has his little piece of history.
I’d say he’s Whyte level. Both pretty poor. Also to note, this was a grudge match. Like AJ Whyte was too.
What does that matter? If a fighter is classed as good enough to defend against, whether it’s his first or last defence doesn’t matter. wilder defended against molina as his first defence, AJ did it as a later defence…no probs.
My point was if brezeale is good enough for AJ to defend against, why couldn't wilder? For him it was a grudge fight too Wlad got ko’d by worse fighters too lol
Molina was a joke of the defense for both of them. AJ however took it on short notice as his Wlad fight fell through cause Klitschko got injured.
I didn't say it mattered I asked you why it was, and asked if what I wrote was a possibility? I think Molina was considered a straight forward easy defence for both and a bit of a gimme for either especially with it being Wilders 34th fight to Joshua's 18th I certainly don't think it mattered for Joshua having only had 17 fights at the time that was agreed and knowing it was happening because the Wladimir fight couldn't be agreed. The fight with Molina happened for Joshua because the Wladimir fight couldn't be finalised at that time I think amount of fights possibly does factor into people's opinions. Especially if comparing who did what when. The critics you were talking about. Could it be that Joshua was mixing at a similar and higher level earlier in his career?
