Good call on Kabayel – that was some atmosphere, almost felt like Luke Littler was fighting.

    Germany is a sleeping giant.

If Queensberry plays their cards right they really have the opportunity to organize profitable events in Germany.

In the late 90's and early 00's the German boxing scene was pretty booming.

Regular show with fighters like michalczewski, maske, otke, beyer, Abraham and obviously the Klitschkos made for regular big nights in Germany. Its fallen off massively over the last 10 years or more, always had big potential.

"pretty booming" ??? It was massive.

The big names Henry Maske, Axel Schulz and the Klitschko brothers drew in close to 20 million viewers in Germany alone.

I remember one of Wladimir Klitschko's fights where K2 made more money from the music act that performed before the main fight than from the fight itself.

...but Golovkin never became a star in Germany. It was only when he came to the United States that he became a household name.

Universum Box Promotion lost money on several of his fights.

sorry I didnt use a strong enough adjective for you lol

it was huge but over shadowed by a lot of international fighters refusing to go there out of fear of dodgy German decisions.

I remember watching some shows and the atmosphere was very timid compared to UK shows.

Id love to see it come back, its a wonder to me why Matchroom tried to create markets in Italy and Spain when Germany had an established scene needing a bit of an injection to wake it up.

A certain Mr Eddie Hearn simply copied The Klitschko stadium shows from Germany and he also stole Sweet Caroline from Queensbury shows.

There will never be a more spectacular ring entrance than Wladimir Klitschko v David Haye.

So DAZN is committed to putting on as few PPV for the fan, whilst already committing via Ultimate to put on at least 12 unspecified ppv a year.

    Brilliant

I bought the DAZN Ultimate subscription and I'm already starting to feel cheated :-(

Will DAZN reach 12 PPVs before December 2026 ?

I'm always a bit wary of streaming companies that want you to pay for a year upfront, it reeks of desperation. Plus, you have no idea what fights you are actually going to get.
Has there ever been such inconsistent pricing from a streaming platform? Granted, they are a relatively new business and they needed to start cheap to capture an audience, but damn! every year it's a huge price hike or a completely new subscription model, they are all over the place.
