Fury Vs Kabayel will be a WAR

Of course, he wants to fight champions like Usyk and Wardley, and prime top opponents, not a big-bellied lazy schlock like Fury.

 

I think that's a bad matchup for Fury. Fury can't fight a full 3 minutes, and I think Kabayel's work rate and superb body punching would drain Fury fast. Kabayel could stop him.

 

No way Fury fights Kabayel, or any live body for that matter.

 

For real. Even at this stage, I think even Makhmudov might be too much. Obviously, Fury smashes him in his prime, but I think Fury has totally degraded fast these past few fights. Fury seems to struggle with speedy, crafty smaller guys and guys that are stronger than him. He's not very strong relative to his size, so he struggles when he can't use his massive size against his opponent.
For instance, he planned to do his normal lay and smother against both Usyk and Ngannou. Usyk is crafty and fast enough to negate this, and Ngannou's freakish strength was enough to ragdoll Fury and break his holding attempts. He was almost entirely out of ideas once these guys negated his go-to post-Wlad strategy.
Makhmudov is no world beater, but neither was Ngannou, and he arguably won the fight and dropped Fury to boot. Makhmudov is pretty basic, but he is very strong, very big and has a decent punch.
If Fury tries to lay and smother Makhmudov, I reckon he's strong enough to break the attempt and tire Fury out. Fury's chin, stamina and power are all either degraded or overrated, and Makhmudov could pull off the upset. Not saying it's likely, just saying it's a possibility considering Fury's very bad appearance these days, the punishment he's taken over his career, his bad lifestyle and his age.

If it happens in 2026 (doubtful), I’d pick Kabayel outright

 

I think even now Fury boxes Big Mac's ears off. I don't think Makmhudov can set a pace fast enough to tire Fury and he looked really tired in places against Allen. I actually think a semi fit Fury still has the tools and engine to stop Mac...

I think he boxes rings around Wardley but that at this point, Kabayel might be his worst opponent. Durable, good engine and he will smash Fury's body if he tries to be lazy and lay on the ropes. In his prime Fury would have given him a boxing lesson, but those days are gone.

 

Yeah, Kabayel is a nightmare matchup. He's strongly number 2 right now imo. I agree with you on the Wardley bit too.
I need to go back and watch the Allen fight. Again, I'm not necessarily saying Makhmudov wins, It's really dependant on how far gone Fury really is. I don't have much faith in Fury, and in the recent footage he posted, he looked grossly overweight and very slow. I just don't think he can go to the well anymore. He's going to have to be very careful with who he fights before he has a big cashout with Joshua... if that ever even happens.

 

The other day he said he would if Fury wanted it...I think.

 

Furys only win in over 3 years was against a zero fight ameture he barely beat who the got embarrassed in 2 by Joshua. The real question is what has fury done to deserve a fight?

Kabayel would be like a kid in a candy shop whacking away at Tyson’s lardy midriff. He’s not as fleet of foot as Usyk, but he has the hand speed to give Fury some issues.

I think the best version of Fury might have a few to many crafty tools, but I’d be rooting for Kabayel to chop him down if the fight got made.

 

Fury should not attempt to fight a good heavy in his prime. If he wants to continue with his career...

Not sure if fury still has it in him to win this, but with how often Kabayel was being set up for uppercuts when he dipped his head against Knyba, I think fury at his peak or even from Usyk 1 would send Kabayel’s head to the moon with his uppercuts. Whyte style.

 

Kabayel looked like **** in that Knyba fight. Power makes everything look better so few people will actually critique his plodding and chin in the air tactics which Knyba was landing at will against. A bigger stronger Heavyweight than Knyba that can move well would’ve planted their feet and chinned Kabayel. I honestly don’t think Kabayel beats Dubois or even AJ. Definitely not beating Usyk who is about 5 levels above him in skill and also way fitter.

 

People would crap on it but I’d love to see a Fury v Klit rematch even now. That would be big box office and you can make an argument for it considering the Ngannou fight.
