If this has to happen I'd have liked it to happen maybe the end of April. July will be a year since Usyk last fought. I seem to recall Usyk saying he wanted 3 possibly 4 fights before retiring I just hope father time doesnt catch up to him all of a sudden.

    Why wait until July?

Usyk has been too inactive, he should have had a fight in early 2026. One fight a year is not enough - and he's liable to be in decline now, from lack of activity, especially since he's age 39.

Now he's holding up the division. He should vacate the WBC title so Kabayel can be elevated to champion or fight in the spring for the WBC title.

Time to play . He can say he defended the wbc belt july 26 and he will have time to at least july 27 before he needs to find new excuses to duck true opponents .

Interesting they know how pathetic this all is and give tickets for free in a hope they will not fight in an empty stadion ...

6 months is way too long. He doesn’t need a 5-6 months long training camp to get ready

Wow that's WAY too long for such a mismatch. Unless Wilder is scheduled to fight an opponent with padded record (someone like Nelson Hysa) to get a ''meaningful'' win before the title fight.

A few hours ago I read here on the forum that there were rumors that there would be difficulties in negotiations. However, it seems that this isn't the case, and the fight will be announced soon. If they fight in July, Usyk will most likely only fight once this year.

I wasn't a big fan of the Wilder fight, but after reading the other article about this fight it makes sense. They are trying to break the world record for largest boxing match outdoors with 150k people attending.

Why couldn't they do that with a different opponent

At this point it has to be something like that. But taking six more months with all the belts is too much. Usyk is starting to **** me off. Canelo was so annoying and now usyk fights once a year vs someone like wilder.

These are the things were you get an impulse not to follow boxing anymore and turn to other things.

But i know the actually good fights are the even matchups we often get with mexicans and japanese and australian fighters. Also there are a lot of young nonames all over the world that often surprise with great fights.

But i am not too far from losing interest in top 10 heavyweights
