I don't prioritize Marshall-Liston I, produced during the best winning streak of Marshall's career, because Harold Johnson ended Marshall's streak, Johnson-Marshall has been on YouTube, and we can see exactly how the unorthodox Marshall executed his win over Sonny. Superpro Harold had no issue dealing with Marty, but an inexperienced Liston simply wasn't ready for Marshall yet.

For me, one holy grail would be Jerry Quarry-Buster Mathis. We do have Mathis-Chuvalo immediately prior, but none of the footage has popped up yet of what may have been Jerry's career masterpiece, and Steve Compton has desperately tried to find it. Is there still hope? Frazier-JQ I was apparently missing in its totality for decades before Howard Cosell's complete call and reporting of it finally surfaced.

I saw that. Disgusting. Either Tex took a dive, and/or he was coked to the gills sharing drugs with good buddy Dokes. I've no doubt the two of them snorted many lines with Cooney.

Of course Tex takes great pride in all this schitt. But to go from Dokes II (where Cobb was blatantly robbed of the TD thanks to Don King's cooking) to an extremely unconvincing KD at the hands or Eddie Gregg to Collier, all during 1985? Bullschit!

The ring wasn't Tex's natural confinement. He belonged in a dung padded corral, wearing the jockey strap he wore while shooting flaming arrows off a rooftop at Abilene Christian University.

I would give up one pinky toe to see Greb-Tunney I.

I'd also like to see any Dempsey-Willie Meahan bout but I wouldn't give up any appendages for it.

Matthew Franklin (later known as Saad Muhammad) vs Dynamite Douglas for the NABF light heavyweight crown was on the undercard of Roberto Duran’s lightweight title defense vs Edwin Viruet in Philadelphia.

The card was co-promoted by Don King and Russell Pelttz, which may be why it doesn’t exist in the boxing video-sphere … could be some question over which owns the rights, or they both have to co-sign on releasing it or some such (or maybe Don owned the rights — it’s Peltz’s venue and he has MSM but with Duran on top it’s almost certain that King would have been the primary promoter). Also possible Don was the original owner of the rights but sold them to a Panamanian or Latin vendor.

I’m guessing @Young Terror got his info from Russell rather than Don, but only he can clarify that.

M, thanks for putting this on our radar. Loved this fight, but then again, I love all of Yuh's fights. Will be adding my comments to the fight on the scorecard thread.

I’d love to see Carr-Bramble, but it’s nowhere to be found on YouTube.

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Randy Shields

Shields had beaten Leonard as an amateur and apparently there professional fight was a close competitive one.

Would be fascinating to see a young Leonard being tested in one of his early fights.

Not sure if it’s mentioned on this thread, but if it was filmed, Tony Chiaverini vs Edgar Ross might be my personal holy grail.
