Nothing stopping the top contenders from fighting multiple times a year, except fear of taking a loss. Well, that and far fewer boxing cards and broadcasts as the sport dies.

July 11th does seem like BS but Usyk and Wilder have been in negotiations for some time now so it's probably going to happen

Problem is all of the top contenders are waiting for Usyk to get off his ass and fight.

Otherwise you end up like Parker taking on a banana skin and missing a shot he earned.

But it's not going to be a free fight on July 11th in front of the Civic Center in San Francisco. Most likely Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

I get what you're saying, but Usyk is in the HW division. And the top young guns are big. I think he beats all those dudes, but time may be catching up to him. He may be feeling it.

I agree. Either put em up, move back down a weight or retire.

Additionally, what would be unreasonable about fighting once every 4 months?

That describes it very good . Nobody wants "to make the parker" and ruin his own career for usyk,s fake game .

Agreed. If the top guys fought that much, I think boxing would be way more popular. I have a hunch that boxings popularity has fallen along with Boxers inactivity. Just a theory.

So it's going to take place in San Francisco, the homeless hub of the USA? But that would make sense if they want a record attendance with free tickets. Lol.

I don't even think casuals would flood to reach that kind of crowd even if they got free tickets. For boxing fans the fight is not interesting either.

Usyk is a great fighter and proved it again and again, but the way he holds up the division is disgusting.
If he wants a soft touch fine, but he must relinquished the belts so deserving contenders can finally have their chance.

Soft touches are for boxers who fight regularly, not after 18 month lay offs. There is a also a difference between a 'soft touch' and 'completely shot unranked Wilder who can barely defend himself against a decent opponent'.

If this happens it is indefensible. Simple as.

I totally agree. Usyk is fighting too little to take a lesser opponent.

then retire and stop holding up the division. Or drop the belts and fight whoever he wants.

I really like Usyk, but come on.

We remember that not long time ago most forum users here said "usyk never ducks , he fights anyone anywhere" .

Now its glad to see most users have their eyes open !

Fury-AJ is a far better fight than Usyk-Wilder. Usyk-Wilder should be the undercard fight (lol).
