It'll probably be a fixed fight. A once popular American heavyweight boxing superstar vs the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion.

Sounds like Paul vs AJ, but a more realistic version. If it's broadcasted by Netflix, both parties will receive at least $100M paycheck. Good business for everyone, everybody will get rich.

No but it would give a MASSIVE boost to his legacy. Wilder seems to be washed, but Usyk is 39 himself and very inactive. Not as past it as Wilder is but still definitely past his best.
Still, if Wilder managed a win he'd go from arguably not really having a place in any heavyweight top 40, to having to be ranked over guys like Vitali and Bowe. Still not top 10 level though.

Should the fight actually happen, then if Wilder needed any motivation to at least throw that bomb, that will be the occasion, as he sure as hell is not out boxing Usyk, one lucky punch however unlikely it is of landing, would be a damned good finale to hang his gloves up on.

No. But there's a big gap between this making him an ATG and claiming he won by lucky punch/fix. Every boxer can lose/win on every given night. If Wilder beats Usyk, fair play to him, but he probably still wouldn'tbe rated higher than Usyk himself, Fury and possibly AJ.

 

In fairness Wilder would somehow be the lineal champion and that is a big deal, as if that will happen though.

1 win does not make you a great fighter. Imo, the most important part of what makes a fighter great is longevity at the top. To reach number 1 and still have the motivation and hunger to keep going, is the thing that sets a great fighter and a good fighter apart. Wilder has never been the number 1 fighter at heavyweight, and even with a win over Usyk, he still wouldn't be the number 1.

No, but not because it is a lucky punch or fix.It is because the rest of his work is so bad that he will finish a notch about Corrie Sanders and a notch below Haseem Rahmen, two other guys who caught lightening in a bottle.

But there is a vanishingly small chance of this happening anyway. Wilder's power is mostly an illusion of fighting cans, and whatever he had is now mostly gone. Usyk has been hit by much harder than Wilder is going to bring.

 

I don't think any punch Wilder throws is lucky because he relies so heavily on it. But no he wouldn't be an ATG. His best win is still Ortiz ffs
