If Wilder KO's Usyk, is he one of the greatest heavyweights of all time?

Imagine if Wilder beats Usyk and Chisora beats Wardley. Wilder-Chisora for undisputed!

 

Usyk will be way too much for Wilder. wouldn't be surpised to see a TKO/KO victory for Usyk.

 

Nah. Even if he beats Usyk, Usyk still ranks above him.

Well . I,m sure its a pure theoretical discussion. Wilder is so shot he has no chance and thats the only reason usyk wants nobody but him . I cannot imagine team usyk goes all the pain to duck three opponents in a row to now take the slightest risk to loose against wilder . Wilder is set up to loose .

Should the impossible happen and wilder sparks usyk out : he would be not a goat since the entire fight is not even mediocore let alone goat worthy but it would be a very big upset and suddenly wilder is a belt holder !!!

 

To go along with his 10defences, 5year reign and ko ratio, it would look like he just had a bad patch lol. But he’s finished

 

No question about that and certain Wilder haters - you know who you are - would need to be put on suicide watch.

 

I think the question should be, if Wilder by some act of an eccentric, benevolent God DID knock out Usyk, what will that do to Usyk's legacy...?

 

I would say another decent win on top as well as that then I would say yes.

Rahman, moored, buster etc were not 5 year champs with 10defences, ranked in the top 4 for about 10years and 1 or 2 in the division for 5 years.

But Wilder is shot to pieces and it won't happen.

 

I'm going to go against the grain, and say IF Wilder turns back the clock and beats Usyk, it would put him in the top 30 of ATGs. Somewhere alongside Joshua and Fury.

While at present his long WBC run and losing trilogy against Fury isn't stellar, Usyk is the elite-level victory that would tip him into ATG status for me.

At present he is a HOF fighter, this would legitimately make him an ATG. It would be argued that styles make fights as to why he lost to Fury, and that he would always have had Usyk's number, etc.

However, I find it very unlikely. Wilder is being cherry picked by Usyk. Because if we are being honest, Usyk went out of his way to duck an in-form Parker until he lost, has now ducked in-form Wardley by dropping the belt, and is now apparently ducking in-form Kabayel by taking a voluntary against the WBC #13. Smh

 

No wins serve to back up those rankings though

And the competition was no better than that beaten by guys without belts

 

It absolutely would. "ATG" is tricky wording tho. What exactly is it? Top 10? Top 50? Top 100? If Wilder did this he would arguably be Top 30.
