Mike Tyson had a better career than Larry Holmes.

Povetkin and Byrd only ones that stands out as elite but they aren't big favorites over Witherspoon or Cooney. David Haye is pretty overrated, h2h he's a threat to anyone whos not an atg, but off heavyweight career why would he be ranked much higher than Renaldo Snipes ? H2h I'd say Haye would have his work cut out for him against a prime Carl Williams

Cooney wasn't that good and Haye is way too fast and Williams way too chinny to deal with someone like Haye imo

Haye has been knocked out before, there is no way can i write off Cooney especially when Haye is actually more overrated. His best wins at heavyweight are Valuev (who is a similar age to Cooneys opponent) and Chisora. Williams could absolutely outbox Haye, it's a matter of him lasting the distance.

Louis and Ali didn’t have the physical advantages that Wlad had.

But we were comparing the reigns of Larry and Wlad.

Now you have made a statement that you can’t back up.

You have said that Wlad’s reign was much harder.

    Yet it wasn’t.

He fought comparable opposition with physical advantages that Larry didn’t possess.

So you tell me how it much harder for Wlad.

Also, tell me who these SHW’s were who he fought.

    Everyone’s circumstances are different.

Mike started young, but faded fast.

But what they did as professionals is the only thing that’s significant here.

Mike had less fights than Larry, but was no longer a world level fighter at 37/38.

Whereas Larry was still a world level HW, where he could beat other world level HW’s at 42.

How am I picking and choosing the criteria?

I have used traditional ranking criteria.

I have told you that, and I have listed the 5 main factors, which is what most people have used for decades.

You have no argument to say that Lennox had worse losses.

Lennox lost once when he was young, and he avenged it.

He then lost once at 36/37, and he avenged it.

Under those circumstances, they are not hurtful losses.

Again, Wlad’s losses really hurt his legacy.

Again, he had 3 of them, all against non elite level opposition, all when in his 20’s, and he didn’t avenge them all. Not only that, he sent his brother in to avenge one of them.

So all things considered, that is absolutely significantly worse, and certainly not the actions of the 4th greatest HW to ever fight.

Yes, Wlad was tremendously skilled. However, he was vulnerable when pressured and forced to fight.

Beating every contender from your era doesn’t automatically give you an elite resume. It simply has to matter who you fought and at what point.

Wlad does not have a better overall resume and a better group of wins than Larry and Lennox etc.

It doesn’t matter if Larry and Lennox missed more contenders.

I agree regarding his wins and his longevity.

His reign has to be respected, but it doesn’t impress me like it impresses you. Again, he had huge physical advantages over mostly B level guys, where he was only the main man due to his brother’s injuries and retirements.

He cannot be ranked higher than Larry.

And a top 4 ranking is laughable.

Here we go again with the exaggerations.

David Haye was not much more dangerous than Tim Witherspoon.

    It’s the comedy club.

Apparently, David Haye was much more dangerous than Tim Witherspoon, and Wlad had much harder opponents than what Larry had.

Just like Wlad was against Corrie.

Only Larry couldn’t call up his big brother to go and sort things out for him.

Wlad compiled the best ever heavyweight record against southpaws.

Larry got his ass kicked by Nick and never fought another.

    Great.

And how many southpaws did Larry have to fight, which were viable?

    No, they did not.

Hold on a moment, it was YOU who said that Wlad had the much harder opponents.

Again, he absolutely did not, despite the fact that he had physical advantages over his opponents that Larry didn’t.

So come and back up your point.

Now me mentioning Wlad’s physical advantages, was merely an OBSERVATION.

Again, the criteria that I use, is traditional ranking criteria, which has been used for decades.

Now you cannot back up your points.

    Not any of them.

Tell me how Wlad’s reign was much harder.

Tell me who these SHW’s were who he fought.

Tell me how David Haye was much more dangerous than Tim Witherspoon.

It is YOU that’s making things up.

Tim was a green, cherry pick gone wrong for Holmes.

Haye was an explosive, seasoned champion for Wlad.

How many times will you give Larry credit for things he never did?
