50/50 fight. I seen Wilder extended 11 rounds by Duhaupas, go rounds with cruiser Szpilka, go 9 with unheard of Eric Molina, Meanwhile Cobb was only stopped once in his career and was competitive against some good names. He also fought way higher level of competition - Holmes, Norton, Dokes, Buster Douglas. Honestly if Wilder can’t crack his chin, and nobody really could, Cobb at 235lbs could break Wilder down and stop him later. good fight
You’re kidding right? Tex was a funny guy lookup the Johnny Carson segments. He was strong and tough but he had no speed AND no power. This is a slaughter.
Wilder stops him. Wilder was very good at setting up his shots. It took a boxing savant with insane recuperative powers to beat him in his prime. Oh, and Wilder hit as hard or harder than any heavy ever born.
I’m going to go with wilder. Yeah Tex was tough and had attitude and all that but I think he just gets beaten up
Cobb, wins simply because Wilder can't fight. At least not on a level of a decently skilled pro fighter. If Cobb could survive the power shots of Shavers who at the least had competent boxing skills and beat him. He wouldn't have much of a problem surviving Wilders overrated power punches, grind him down and win.
Have you ever seen Tex Cobb footage? He's a sloppy, slow, arm puncher with zero power. All he had was concrete for a jaw. Those who faced and sparred with Wilder have stated that he's very cagey, protects himself very well and is really hard to read. He's not the classic model of boxing that people, especially American audiences, have grown to expect. But he was ruthlessly effective, which Cobb was not. Cobb really had no strong suit. He was mediocre, or worse, across the board.
Cobb didnt have many attributes other than being tough as nails. He really didnt have much power. Even if Wilder can't stop him he should easily win a decision.
