If that’s the case, that’s a shame for him especially being a heavyweight. Astro is someone who I believe, as she has good sources.
read plenty astros posts before i joined and hes a man imo just cos he has a male partner people saying she, very disrespectful imo this is 2026 ffs
The thing about punch resistance is that it all comes out in the wash at some point any way. There's not much point speculating on what fighters do outside of the pro ring. As an example, Mayweather-Spadafora was one of the rare occasions where a notable sparring session was recorded and widely viewed. As interesting as it was, it was also completely meaningless in terms of any indicator of how good the fighters were, never mind impact on legacy. It's as pointless as talking about footballers scoring goals in training. Itauma may or may not have a weak chin. Even if he has, there are levels to being "chinny" and some fighters are able to work around it better than others.
Sparring is an opportunity for a lot of fighters to try new things and work on weaknesses, they can be a varied states of fitness and often the concentration levels can vary, not usual to get hurt in sparring at the end of the day, Tyson got dropped by McCall i think it was and his chin was usually pretty solid. As Heisenberg stated, he's sparred many of the big names and I assume come out unscathed and as we know, he has been heaped with praise by those seeing those spars, so you would assume his chin isnt that bad or atleast his defence is very good. Time will tell, but with heavyweight boxing, anything can happen.
Moses Itauma needs to see a plastic surgeon and get an iron implant in his jaw There is also the option to pay Itauma's upcoming opponents with an envelope.
Well, we also have the opposite view from somebody that spars in the same circle Have you seen the spars or going by word passed on?
Also, boxers tend to spar a lot more than they box professionally, so from a purely numbers perspective its no wonder that some get dropped, hurt, or struggle with partners whom on paper they should have an easy time with. Carl Froch used to say that no boxer is 100% healthy when they enter the ring, and hes probably right to a degree. I think its very rare for a boxer to be in perfect condition and mindset when they fight. From personal sparring experience and training I can say that about once a week I feel really good in training, and about once a month I feel really good in sparring; my energy is up, I can push myself further than usual, my mind is clear and my reflexes are sharp. But I can never plan for this, it just happens when it does.
Im just slightly baffled as to why a promotion would invest so heavily on a fighter that supposedly has a bad chin and it's common knowledge Makes little sense All due respect I'm gonna lean towards Heisenberg here as he will have seen it himself where as your basing this on hearsay Either way it's gonna be an interesting ride
Personally think that whyte is so far shot that he’s not really a worry for anyone with half decent defence/movement-which itauma has, so yeh I don’t think they’d have been worried putting him in there with the current version of whyte at all, he’s a big “name” but so far gone it was a fairly safe bet and worked out exactly as they’d predicted
That's a fair take I think watching him fight Tete definitely convinced them to make the offer to Whyte
100% I always liked whyte, entertaining and unpredictable both in the fight and the build up! What you see is what you get, but honestly when was the last time he actually looked good?
