We will see! If there’s no place for it it simply won’t succeed

I’m no Dana white fan btw, frankly I’ve little interest in it but if everything was working fine then things like this wouldn’t even get off the ground, let’s see what happens over the next 12 months/2 years

Just watched a Eddie Hearn interview and he’s played a blinder, he’s not saying he’s worried about the impact of Zuffa boxing on the sport, he’s concerned about how the UFC fighters will handle seeing Dana pay considerably more money for boxing bouts than they currently do for UFC fights.
He is right and that’s the reason why they need to get the Ali act modified, it’s difficult to see how any of this generations top boxers would be able to be paid the same money for zuffa, also for the model to work the Ali act has to be drastically changed to allow the promoter to be the manager too, and that was pretty much the reason why it was introduced in the first place. And they will definitely need to remove the fight revenue transparency part, if it’s public knowledge what boxers are being paid in comparison to the UFC fighters on his roster then you would assume they would look for parity in pay.
It could get messy in the UFC world.
I would like to know if they are planning to disregard the alphabet belts in terms of ranking, then will they disregard the national championship and continental championships.
If they only acknowledge their own title as a way of ranking fighters then it would essentially be a tournament format, at least initially.
If the number one fighter fights the number two fighter, then does that make them drop down a mid range ranking or do they then get a shot at the number three fighter, to me it seems like if they are successful in their goals then it can only be bad for boxing.

Things are not fine now as since around 2022 boxing has gone flat dead. The reason(s) could be many.
However many of these things have existed in the past, it’s no harm. Most blow over and disappear. trying to get a monopoly on boxing will be harder than mma, however he does have more backing and clout now.

IMO, most of the “buzz” about ufc is just fake or ppl not understanding it and repeating cliches.
UFC is a closed promotional system, not an open sport so cannot be compared to an open sport.
“The best fight the best” is a complete falsehood too.
UFC don’t pay great and there’s lots of control from the boss, Dana.

I'm all for anyone making better matched fights. Even if their name is Dana White.

This is why I keep saying if Zuffa wins the future of boxing will be pre Open era tennis. People like Hearn are wondering how one can have the audacity to ruin the lives of hundreds of people who can kill you in seconds. The Zuffa plan is to transition to people who aren't going into Boxing/MMA to get paid. Who aren't "making a living" and care more about the fame and ego boost someone gets for being a fighter. Dana said it himself "its not a career its an opportunity". Thats his vision.

If you look at the UFC roster while theres lots of struggling Americans who wrestled in college you'll notice theres more and more people with very unusual backgrounds. Dysfunctional rich people, people who are sponsered by their countrys government or rich benefactors. Influencers, streamers and only fans models are next. You are going to see more and more of them. They will gradually phase out people struggling to support a family on a Zuffa salary. They want a sport of fighters with a "brand" who will cause chaos to sell fights. They don't want professional athletes.

Think about all the fights boxing fans have been deprived of just in the last 20 years, fights that absolutely had no business NOT being made, if a guy like Dana White can help solve that problem, I’m all for it.
