Parker and Ruiz are other 2 champs, but Parker didnt have a long run. It was 2 defenses and a year compared to 5 years and 10 defenses. Parker would've been the better fight. Im not saying Wilder deserves it

I’ll give you the 5 years and title defense list but the rest is such a stretch it’s beyond a reach around

As an amateur, pro, and semi pro, Usyk has faced Anthony JoshuaX2, Daniel DuboisX2, Tyson FuryX2, Murat Gassiev, Joe Joyce, Artur BeterbievX3, Mihai Nistor, Marco Huck, Krystoff Glowacki, Clemente RussoX2, Mairus Briedis, Tony Bellew, Mahamodrasul Majidov, Arsen Goulamirian and a host of others.

Of that absolute murderer's row, Uysk was knocked down once, by a body shot from Beterbiev, in 2011. That's 15 years ago.

What in god's name makes you think Wilder would do any better than that list?

It’s crazy to think how Deontay Wilder used to get on the Alabama Crimson Tide college football bandwagon.

fast forward today and he is a shell of himself and the Alabama Crimson Tide aren’t as dominant as Wilder was..

Wilder was a manufactured hype job who was fed a bunch of Glass Jawed handpicked opponents and even then he struggled with many of them. His first four title defenses were an absolute joke. Wilder is a Glass Jawed fighter always has been always will be. Nothing will ever change that.

The same characters slating Wilder would have been (and in many cases were) slating many of the top HW's of yesteryear. Most of it is lies, selective omission and emotional hyperbole.

From 2015-2021 at the bare minimum, Wilder was a legitimate top 4 heavyweight and the most dangerous puncher in the division. Wilder's contemporaries (fighters and trainers) knew this, the ranking bodies knew this and Usyk knows this. The fact that many boxing forum warriors don't understand this is irrelevant.

Wilder was not great but I will also say that he turned out better than I thought. He put in a tremendous effort in Fury 3 and I did not think he'd have had that in him. Fury beat the snot out of him round after round but Wilder clung in there still looking for the KO. The dude has both chin and heart.

The Fury draw counts for a lot, whether people like it or not.

Fury may have been past his absolute peak as a boxer given what happened in the 3 years between Wlad and Wilder 1, and Wilder may have had structural advantages over Wlad (smaller ring, the Fury-Wlad fight for his team to study) but the fact remains that Wilder dropped Fury twice and almost KO'd him (indeed, an A-side referee could have easily stopped it for Wilder), while ATG Wlad got virtually shut out and never came close to doing much.

Wlad went on to almost beat Joshua 17 months later and Fury was still a top 2 heavyweight 6 years later when he lost to Usyk for a 2nd time. Neither Wlad or Fury were shot, or even significantly past their best.

Wilder getting to 42-0-1 with 41 KO's and 10 defences was a big deal. Stiverne 1 was limited but he was a very durable counter puncher with power and a defending WBC titlist; he dominated Arreola twice, which is sufficient to imply he'd have been a stylistic problem for Chisora, Miller, Ruiz and even Povetkin. Ortiz x2 would have got at least one win over most of the contenders in the division if they'd been willing to fight him, I suspect he'd have gone 1-1 with Joshua too. And a 2018 Fury beats most of the field with relative ease, he doesn't come close to getting KO'd by many or any others.

Put an A-side Chisora against Wilder's list and he's going to have at least 3-4 losses after 43 fights, and a fair number of distance fights (Washington and Helenius accomplished this and they weren't the toughest Wilder opponents). Something similar applies to Povetkin, though with fewer losses and more KO's than Chisora.

I see no reason to favor Wilder over contemporaries like Kabayel, Hrgovic, Zhang etc

That's enough to keep him out of the top 4

He said from 2015-2021. These guys were irrelevant then. It’s 2026 now.

Wilder doesn't deserve credit for facing a massive threat in Fury because he didn't have a choice after getting dominated? There's always a choice.

Look at Joshua's decisions after getting blown out by Dubois.

Wilder fans wishing them irrelevant does not make it so.

Kabayel beat Chisora back in 2017 that certainly should have made him relevant

No reason to think Hrgovic, Zhang magically improved because they managed to land big fights

You also have Parker, Joyce etc to consider

Oh I just realised who you are, it’s the cojimar ranking system again.
Every thread you go down this same route, obsession with wilder and your own personal ranking system, changing topics, moving goalposts etc.

his comment was wilder was consistently top 4 between 2015-2021. Neither kabayel or Chisora were. So what’s your point?

I will just repeat the other guys fact again
“Wilder was consistently top 4 between 2015-2021”.

If you need that translating into another language, let me know and I can try help.

How many years were they ranked as one of the four best HW's in the world? Then compare to Wilder.
