    Exactly.

H.E. no longer needs Eddie Hearn or Frank Warren.

Falling out or not, it’s just the next stage of the Saudi cycle.

Hearn had (arguably) the trendiest roster at the time this started, and most importantly he had the platform in DAZN that was begging to host sportswashing, so that was the in Turki and the Saudis needed.

But then they wanted Fury, and Dubois, and a good Muslim potential headliner in Sheeraz, so Warren got involved and he became the golden goose for a while, giving up the decent platform of TNT to go behind the app.

And now they’ve been at it for two-three years, and have clocked on that sticking stuff behind a PPV paywall on already niche app doesn’t really get you eyeballs on ‘Riyadh Season’, or bring in loads of cash.

Enter the bright, snazzy lights of Dana White, Nick Khan and TKO’s in with Netflix, and all of a sudden you’ve got one of, if not the biggest and most accessible worldwide streaming platform willing to show your content live to millions of people. Sayonara Eddie and Frank, no need for you two anymore.

And in a year or two, Turki and TKO might fall out or disagree on the direction of Zuffa Boxing or whatever, and the Saudis could well kick them to the curb as well and move on to the next shiny option.

Yup, and to the last sociopath standing will go the spoils – they all secretly hate one another too. Classic narc ego-system.

Dana, Hearn, Warren, Turki et al. are just different flavours of the same cartel model: centralised control, talent squeeze, rival elimination, endless value extraction. One front man (or front prince) wins the narrative; everyone else gets bought, sidelined, or binned.

Boxing’s chaos is drifting toward a UFC-style monopoly; same playbook, shinier lights.

Arum and King must be laughing, and still have a begrudging respect for it all. This is just their 80s hustle with shinier suits and bigger backers.

Allen was well in the fight against the fella you’re saying it’s acceptable to be what Dave Allen isn’t acceptable to be. Allen had that ‘scary’ Russian hurt numerous times. Very fine margins.

No, that’s your interpretation of what I said – the reality is if Allen wins that fight, he more likely than not gets the Fury or Joshua call. That’s the madness: beat Bosh Jnr, have one “brave” night, and suddenly you’re basically a gateway to AJ/Fury.

“Very fine margins” is Meldrick Taylor–Chavez territory. Allen had moments and did better than he did vs Price, sure, but that fight wasn’t close overall. Big Mac had points deducted and still won on the cards by 4, 6 and 8, so it wasn’t some razor-thin robbery scenario. Obviously the Fury fight is to tap into the casual market and the promoters hoping to showcase Tyson to build up the cash-out v Joshua, but it shows where the sport is currently at.

It’s actually a good match for the Netflix audience, how do you think it plays out?

100% the right man won but what I’m saying is Allen looked one shot away on a number of occasions in my opinion.

I like the fight to be honest. The Russian will have to be a lot better than he was against Allen that’s for sure. Even with Fury coming off a long lay off. I don’t think Fury was as bad as the general consensus suggests in his Usyk fights. If he gets on top and doesn’t get cocky like he did in the first Usyk fight I think he’ll win on points or get him out later. I thought the Russian was feeing sorry for himself at times against Allen so he may have a stoppage in him. I have only ever seen him fight that time though.

Allen was his typical self when in there against someone with a bit of skill.

Threw about 10 punches a round, and was on the end of a beating.

The only surprise was that Mak was rather subdued in the later rounds, and happy to carry Dave to a decision.
