People always have recency bias. Loma is out of boxing so for many, out of sight, out of mind.

    Shakur couldn't lace Loma's boots.

Shakur is damn good but what Loma did is the equivalent of him going to 154 and fighting Jr the LMW there. That was the size disparity between Loma and the 135 pounders.

Shakur jumping up to 140 with no tune-up and facing teo is impressive and is not being mentioned enough.

The guy is 28 years old and this is his first real test it's about time he stepped up.

Not his first real test Valdez was a test so was Zepeda a fighter many here said would beat him. This is his biggest test but definitely not his first.

I get what you are saying but Shakur was a heavy favorite going into those fights and nobody seriously thought he was going to lose.
I think that Shakur would be wasting his time with a tune up at 140 it's not like he is a small guy and Lopez himself is also a former lightweight.

    Good point.

IMO its not being talked about enough because Teofimo is under rated, and Shakur is considered the favorite. Both combined make it easy to overlook that impressive move from Shakur. Also worth noting, Shakur doesn’t seem like a huge weight bully at 135 the way Haney or Garcia did.

He’s not small for the weight, but he’s not huge like those other guys. Haney and Garcia look like they’d be comfortable at 154.
