That was more of a thing before people started gaming the scales so much. These days, it is what it is, Stevenson is a big guy even at 140 and is by no means smaller than Teo.

His style is also clearly very effective against Teo.

Yes stevenson is at a different size situation from loma. Don't know if serge left the forum, but he said it a million times.

Compare loma vs haney (easily two or three weight classes higher than him on the night AND one of the strongest technical boxers with a great resume and very hard to beat) to stevenson vs lopez (certainly same weight and height on the night).

And on top lomachenko should have won. Only because you can find a way to tell yourself haney might have won by the smallest margins doesn't mean he should have with three judges scoring and the most likely Score from an unbiased judge being a lomachenko win.

Well it's one of these annoying things about boxing that eastern europeans don't get the credit they deserve, but lomachenko was a very special fighter with a unique style. The most interesting resume of fights below middleweight since mayweather and pacquiao. And the strongest with the way he outfought his opponents.

At his own weight he was basically unbeatable. So he fought people clearly much bigger than him.

Stevenson will never do that. Crawford didn't do it. It's usyk, bivol and it was lomachenko doing it.

If i could choose to have the skills of any boxer it would probably be lomachenko

Shakur is 10 times better than Loma.

Loma is the most exaggerated boxer ever. He lost all his serious fights.

Loma was ducked and then robbed over and over, fighting bigger men. Not sure what he should have done differently.

Bivol wanted to fight canelo in super middle. Canelo declined because he didn't want to lose his titles. Bivol fought zurdo and looked like a dwarf. Show me an opponent that was lighter than him in the ring with him?

None of these Fighters are really jumping up .. Stevenson probably walks around at 165-170lbs. So sell that **** elsewhere.. there's nothing impressive about a guy in that weight range fighting at 140lbs. You're just trying to promote the idea that there is because you're a biased fan boy who likes watching these powder puff shoulder rolling sprinters.

Perhaps the version of Loma Teo beat. Remember, Loma's ego wouldn't allow him to postpone the fight for a bad arm. So, Loma either thought so highly of himself or so little of Teo, that he decided to fight with 1 good arm. Yeah, Shakur was better than that Loma.

I know Shakur should probably win on paper, but I gotta feeling Teo gonna do it.

Bigger guy, more athletic. Way more battle tested. Used to the weight class. Fought good southpaws before.

It’s mainly just the usual suspects saying DUMB **** like that. Lol

shakur has done jack **** to prove he’s even on par with prime Loma.

How far did shakur go in the Olympics again?? I forgot. I know Loma is still considered by most as the best boxing Olympian in history.

Because they're idiots who are incapable of factoring obvious and simple things or they have an agenda against Loma. Shakur is an excellent fighter but had Loma turned pro at the same age as all these American young ''kings'' he fought or who were rivals of his 135 would be his 7th to 9th weight class and that's without being a weight bully or a massive one like many of them were/are and he fought them at their 1st weight, a weight he was tiny for and one they were huge or massive for

And he was fighting them without catchweights or rehydration clauses in their countries with home refs and judges which is something none of them have ever done or ever will once in their entire careers and he has done many times in just 21 fights

When he was 18 y/o he was campaigning at 112 with same day weigh ins and had he turned pro back people wouldn't need me to explain something so obvious to them that they should be aware of and factoring in themselves

Listen to what Shakur says to Teo here about Loma's lack size at 135 and how Teo tries to make out him being much bigger than Loma wasn't a big factor

    Teofimo

'He’s better off at 130 or 126. “I think that 135 is too heavy for him. I think that he’s too sluggish at 135. But let’s see, man. Let’s see what this whole one-year rest does for him.

“I’m a big 135 pounder. I can be fighting at 140 right now. I’m very comfortable at this weight. Everything that this man does do that they say, he’s decreasing. I’m not even in my prime yet and I’m out here just outdoing guys. He’s on his way out, and it’s showing. Your body can only take so much damage, and I guarantee you we’re going to put some damage on this man.”

“He’s on the way out of the sport and 135 is just too big ,” the Honduran-American said.

Lomachenko, 32, started his career in 2013 as a 126-pounder. Lopez, 23, has fought at 135 since he turned pro in 2016.

''I think that he's on his way out. I really do believe that and 135 is just too much of a big weight class for him''

''If you look at the Luke Campbell fight, you can see there is just a lot of wear-and-tear on his body.

“I look at it like this—maybe this whole COVID-19 year helped him out. Maybe he needed it. That way he can probably at least hang in there a little bit with me. It’s going to be a great fight. I just look at the facts. You see a fighter who has gone up in weight class. Sometimes they go up too much where their body isn’t used to it, or the weight class is too big for them.''

“This man has had over 400 fights. I have over 150 fights. I’m 23. I’m going to tell you this, when I get to camp, oh man, my body aches sometimes. If I’m 23 and dealing with stuff at this age, I can only imagine what he must be going through at 32 with over 400 fights.”

''I'm not going to have a 126 pounder come out here and try and take over on me. I'm a big guy''

“A lot of people talk very highly about him. But if you look at it, there were so many mistakes he made against Luke Campbell. Loma tries too hard to make everybody think he can still do it, even though he’s 32 years old.

Interviewer: ''Lomachenko is small for the weight class''

    Teofimo: ''Very!''

''No 126 pounder is beating my son'' --Teofimo Lopez Sr.

    Day of the weigh in

Lopez looking like a sunken-eyed cadaver slurring his words, Loma looking the picture of health. Loma looked healthy on the scales down at 126 for goodness sake

''Skinny Fimo now, but then you get the monster tomorrow''

''By tomorrow I'm going to look like a different man. A whole new man''

    Shakur

Interviewer: ''You saw Loma recently, how was that?''

Shakur: ''Yeah I seen him. He looked small. That's what I really was thinking. He's tiny for 135, I just moved up and I felt way bigger than Lomachenko''

Interviewer: ''He's like a natural featherweight''

Shakur: ''I think he should go back down. I think he'd be a lot better at 130''

"Devin is too big. Like, I think the size ... don't get me wrong, Lomachenko can fight. Devin is way out of his weight class. He's going to make 35 and then shoot up to 150 or 160 (actually 160) nive times out of 10, and Lomachenko is going to be 137 or 138, so it's just not even fair to me."

“I think he [Devin Haney] smokes Lomachenko.

“I didn’t like the way he looked against Ortiz. I saw him in the gym two or three weeks ago, he looked like a 126lb fighter, he doesn’t look like a 135lb fighter.

“I think Dev is too long and tall.”

Conversely, Shakur turned pro at 19 at 126 but he never defended his world title at that weight he relinquished it an moved up to 130 after winning it because he was too big for the weight. He then lost his world title at 130 on the scales after his 2nd defence (5th fight at the weight) because he could no longer make weight, coming in 1.5lbs over the weight and he didn't even attempt to shift the final pound and a half

So even though 140 will be his 4th weight class and it's Teo's 2nd one he's a big guy and there is no noticeable size difference between them and this is clear to see with the naked eye

"I'm not no idiot. I don't [want to fight]... some [of] these guys that's way bigger than me".

Teo turned pro at 135 at 19 y/o and he point blank refused to fight Josh Taylor in his country even though Taylor was undisputed and Teo would've been fighting him for his belts at 140 not his ones at 135. Loma fought Teo in his backyard with a home ref and three home judges. Teo was a massive weight bully at 135 and a devastating puncher at that weight with one shot KO power in both hands.

He was knocking dudes dead at that weight but once he moved up to 140 his power hasn't been near as effective. He is 6-0-0 (1 KO) at 14 but he should be 4-2-0 (1KO) because he clearly lost to Martin and Ortiz both in his backyard or country at his 2nd weight not 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th

Twink turned pro at 18 at 130. 140 was his 3rd weight class but he insisted on a catchweight and rehydration clauses when he fought at 140 against Ryan and Barrios and then he dropped back down to 135/130 because those guys at 140 were ''too big'' and look at how many times he dragged fighters up in weight at those lower weights

'Gervonta Davis views the rehydration restrictions in their contracts as a way to ensure fairness entering his high-profile fight against rival Ryan Garcia.

''Davis has drawn criticism from Garcia, his opponent’s team and some fans for the contractual clause that prohibits the taller Garcia from weighing more than 146 pounds at a second-day weigh-in the morning of their Showtime Pay-Per-View main event April 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The contracted limit for their first weigh-in April 21 is 136 pounds, one above the maximum for the lightweight division.

Garcia, 24, and Davis, 28, both must weigh in again the morning of their fight. Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) and Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) can add as much weight as they want from the time of their second-day weigh-in until they set foot in the ring.

Baltimore’s Davis explained his rationale for demanding the rehydration clause during a recent appearance on Showtime’s popular show, “All The Smoke,” co-hosted by retired NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

“I mean, it’s just making sure everything’s fair,” Davis said. “You know what I mean? I know that he’s a bigger fighter. He already has the advantage off the height, the size, the arm length, like everything, he has the most advantage. So, I’m just making it a little fair. You know what I mean? Just everybody stay the same. And, I mean, it ain’t like he gotta go [to a second weigh-in] and I don’t have to go. We both have to go. You know what I mean?”

I won't even get started on gigantic weight bully Haney who has literally never beaten anyone close to his size sans possibly the ''too small'' Norman and who has been his opponents at 135, 140, and 147 that they're ''too small'' even though he was making his debut at 140 and 147 when he told Rougarou and Norman that. And it wasn't just talk because he was actually way bigger than Rougarou after rehydrating 25lbs after the way in and I strongly suspect he was significantly bigger than Norman come fight time too

Ryan was clearly a huge weight bully for 135 too and he's looks like a very big 147
