Why would anyone mess with the missus of a man so large he makes mountains look like hills?

If I were a woman I'd say Tank Davis.

I remember reading a long time ago that the consensus amongst boxing 'people' within the sport was that Larry Holmes was a proper hard man, not just a great boxer, and not many would want to tangle with him outside of the relative safety of the ring...

During Foreman's return I also rememer reading an article by a journalist that said that he had been in 'big' George's camp and when he said jump, people started jumping without asking why or how high. A genial, smiling man whose eyes never laughed; the writer found him genuinely terrifying...wish I could find/remember these articles instead of snippets from a fondly remembered past

I remember watching the Joe Joyce Daniel Dubois face off at the weigh in and thinking Joyce just looked 'different' in the eyes than Dan. Heard a few people say he was a hard, hard man in his relatively short peak. A lovely natured fella but he seemed to have that internal switch come fight night...imagine meeting that monster in the street, realising you couldn't hurt him, seeing that implaccable stare and feel that first, thudding punch...

As someone who wasn't around for his first career, I can only imagine Foreman trying to sell me a low fat grill if I bumped into him there.

But he was also never crazy. He'd be no danger to walk by in an alley.
