Question for all the people saying he ran… Murtazaliev clearly should be fighting a couple weight classes higher than this. He looked huge in there. Is it really some big injustice that Kelly boxed like that?

Fair enough criticising him if he did that to another normal sized 154 lb’er, but who really cares that he did it to Murtazaliev? Kelly was severely outsized, he had to win somehow.

At best I said, Murtazaliev won on most people's cards, Kelly won on almost no one's Now Murtazaliev has a loss and Kelly has a title and a win he didn't earn. That's a robbery.

Ah, styles make fights I guess. Avenesyan may not be elite, but he will always catch up with you and make you trade a bit. Against certain top guys, that just gets him knocked out quicker, but it messes up Kelly's gameplan very badly.

If you're saying that you think the best you can give Kelly is a draw, then 2 judges having it one round away from that doesn't sound like a robbery. I thought it was very tight. I'm not convinced either really did enough consistently to be considered a clear deserving winner.

He fought the fight he was supposed to. He outboxed and frustrated Murtazaliev. If he were a coward then he wouldn't have stepped into the ring in the first place against a man like Murtazaliev. He took on the most avoided fighter in the division, a huge puncher who was seen as a boogeyman and you're calling him a coward just because you don't like his style. Whatever wins a fight wins a fight, and if a fighter has to fight dirty or brawl or box to get the win then that's just how the sport goes. I think you're bitter about Murtazaliev losing and I really am not in the right headspace to debate right now, respectfully.

Nothing I said was inaccurate. But keep being a slimy weasel, lying to yourself that Kelly legitimately won that.

    Timing, I guess

I feel like Kelly’s work in the Ava fight was better-at least from a judging point of view, but his gas tank let him down

Plus Ava applied that style much better that night, he was relentless and really put the pressure on Kelly- murtazaliev didn’t do that tonight-lots of walking forward but not enough punches or variety shown imo

I said at best it was a draw, you can't find more than 6 rounds to give to Kelly. That equals a robbery.

Yeah in terms of punches landed Bak might have landed more but PBK was often landing the flashier shots and giving the appearance he was outboxing him and even though I don't enjoy that style Bak wasn't impressive and was swinging and missing an awful lot and PBK's slickness and defences was making him look crude. I'd have to watch it again and score it round by round and actually count punches landed and I might feel like Bak edged it upon 2nd watch. I feel it was close either way though

Kelly is a lot stronger at LMW. I’m sure he used to box at 69kg as an amateur. I know he had a big amateur background but only his 20th pro fight, I probably wrote him off a bit myself but in reality of course he will still be improving.

He's a scumbag that ran, conned and spoiled his way to a bull**** gift decision in one of the most corrupt countries on the planet for away fighters outside of Germany, and you like cowardly pussies, own it.

Thought kelly deserved it. Just a hard style for bak. Kellys movement and reflexes we,re a little bit too sharp for him.
