I did think it was odd for him to step in
    But thought it mostly inconsequential.
Thing is the ref isn’t aware of the Time left in the round - that’s what the time keepers & 10 second clappers are for…
timekeepers is responsible for the official clock
Referee is there to enforce the rules & fighter safety.
how could the ref know there was 12 seconds left?

Bro this is history for Novak. To become oldest slam champion. Carlito got 15 years left at the top.

But also no over the top praise both are unacceptable in defeat. Short and sweet to minimise your time in the ring as a loser.

Let's hope the fight night weights are released. I'm always open to changing my opinion if presented with new information. Shakur didn't look remotely undersized at 140 and if there was a size difference it was minimal IMO. I was actually arguing with someone the other day that whilst Shakur is a big guy or good sized at every weight he's fought at he's not some massive weight bully like Haney. I've never seen Shakur look like death on the scales like Haney and he's not rehydrating 20-25lbs after weigh ins like Haney.

Also, I could name around 15 other fighters I'd much rather see Shakur fight than Connor Benn.

I took an obvious risk, hoping the weight jump and Teo's power would be enough, it was a gamble that didn't pay off. Oh ****ing well! It happens!

It doesn't change a goddamn thing I just said. It was a cherry pick.:deal:

So I'm not giving him any credit for it. Because he doesn't deserve any. He just beat a guy that was schooled by Kambosos, Ortiz and Martin. Holy ****ing ****!

Nah see that’s his super power
I’m not a fan of it (that style per se)
But he is a master of the boxing discipline & controlling distance never out of position allowing him to do what he just did

Stevenson's instincts and reaction time are off the charts. Phenomenal. But if he wants more fans he has to act like a fighter. That means he has to entertain as well as win. He entertained tonight because he made Lopez look so bad but he could have stepped it up and possibly have stopped Lopez if he tried. He wasn't willing to take the chance, though.

I don’t think he did or has to, he knew it was the final round and he had witnessed him already getting up from a similar body shot, it is also possible that he was influenced by the way his eyes had swollen, they were checked multiple times during the fight.
