What’s his ceiling? Floyd or pernell etc.I didn’t expect that he makes Teo look cumbersome and lost.Still don’t see greatness.But his performance certainly raised an eye brow today.
Best in the world / best of his generation. He could clear house at 135-140 and outside of 154 those are the two best divisions right now. Perhaps an argument for 126lbs. But yes, he's got the conditions to be best of his generation level and he certainly has the ability and temperament for that.
Really? i certainly didn’t see it.With Floyd and Pernell you can see it.The flashy slickness.Slick defense and speed.Shakur got this dreadful style that isn’t pleasing to the eye.But effective..As far as entertainment goes i dunno.
I don't know if he'll be the most aesthetic of his generation and I'm not arguing so. But I can't see who even makes him get out of second gear anywhere between 130-140lbs.
Excellent. Like I said years ago. Even though he didn't have the resume to warrant the ranking then he was one of the top 5 most skilled fighters in the sport.
talentwise, hes in the top 1% of fighters today. its not just his freakish reflexes, but his understanding of the science of boxing is top level. he understands distance and positioning no matter what the opponent shows him. thats why he is so good at anticipating his opponents moves, because he is 2 steps ahead of what theyre doing. to beat him you need to use a lot of head movement when moving forward, jam his radar. you need to go to the body religiously, to slow his feet just enough to catch him on the end of your punches when you alternate to the head in the second half of the fight. you are not going to outbox a fresh shakur, you need to diminish him first.
That’s what i saw too but he is no ppv star.Maybe he will be.Dunno.. Hard to pay ppv with boring fight style and not much excitement.
Kinda reminds me of Ward. I remember being high on Ward when he used to get criticized for being boring. I think he has the talent to be considered the best in the sport. I don't think he will have the legacy of Floyd or Whitaker though but he has a chance to be considered the next best after them.
I've been saying from very early in his career he'll be number 1 P4P at some point. Right now I wouldn't put him as high as guys like Mayweather or Whittaker, I don't think he's as well rounded as them. But he's exceptional at what he does, now with Crawford retired he will take the mantel as the best US fighter of his generation.
